Peanut the coffee dog usually turns up at Fox River some time around 9am, and brings with her the relatively well-trained Andrew. Peanut overseas proceeding like any good manager while Andrew makes a decent fist of providing coffees, and bacon and/or egg sandwiches, with or without plum sauce (recommended), while barking incessantly. At some point later in the morning, Andrew`s wife, having discovered he`s off his leash again, will come and retrieve him.
For a few hours in the morning it`s something like a mix between Groundhog Day, Fawlty Towers and that uncle nobody talks about... with caffeine. 10/10.

Bloody great yarns with a fair bit of B..sh.t thrown in for nothing, entertaining and informative at the same time, coffee was great and the bacon and egg sandwich was awesome.

The operator is a great conversationalist and there is plenty of parking. Unfortunately there is not enough cover if it happens to be raining, and the coffee is pretty average.

We drove a long way to get to the Rusty Cup for a wonderful cup of coffee. I don’t think the man working on the morning of March 17 was the regular guy. We ordered one small cappuccino and one large mocchiato for a total of $9.50. Both tasted of solid warm milk. Absolutely no coffee flavor. Really sad because we had been looking forward to it for months as a unique stop on our trip. We had already left before we tasted the coffee or we would have gone back to ask him to remake them.

A relief to find an actual coffee stop after abandoning the Underworld cafe up north at Charleston due to their lack of service. The « barista » serves good repartee with his coffee.

Thanks Adrian for a wonderful place to stay for us. It was so good to find a nice calm place to stay at yours with the special elevated views. A good coffee and lots of banter was a good start to our day on the coast in the morning. Cheers Mate. regards Nick

Went for a hike in the forest, but all ways were shut down. While waiting for our ride we came back to the road where this cafe was.
First off, the pup is so playful and sweet. I could spend an hour there just with her!
But the owner was so friendly. he explained why it was all shut down (poisoning the opossums) and some other areas to go to while waiting. We found some great caves by the beach from him!
After we came back one of the local fishermen dropped off some whitebait for us to try. he fired them up in a egg for us, it was so good. Didn't charge, just wanted us to try it.
Like I said, easily the most friendly, helpful, nice person you could meet. Sweetest playful pup, good prices and good coffee. There is no reason not to stop by.
