Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a look around the pottery shop and decided to have afternoon tea. Ordered a coffee and a cheese scone (excellent). Coffee was hot, staff were friendly and efficient. Can't fault it

Very disappointing to find a cafe nowadys that cannot serve up anything glutenfree. Even their broccolisalad contained mayo with gluten in it. Had to leave my group and go around the corner to Subway instead...

Excellent cafe to stop for a break while travelling. We always stop when travelling through Temuka. It's easy access from the main road and clearly signed. The food is delicious and staff friendly. The bonus for me is the bathroom that is suitable for people...with mobility problems. I had a dates scone and coffee this time. It lived up to expectations.More

No prices on food which is frustrating and food was expensive. My pie was accompanied by an unimpressive few limp salad leaves and 2 strips of carrot, no relish as in the past.

Called in for lunch. Staff pleasant. Elected for Mousetraps. Very disappointing, the base was dry and a heavy consistency that was unpleasant to chew. The garnish was a few passed the use by leaves without any dressing whatsoever. Significant improvement needed.

The environment is pleasant and the food was very good but we experienced the worst customer service approach we have ever received. We ordered a pastry with salad and fries from the menu. We were asked did we want the salad and fries or just...the pastry. We confirmed we did. We paid the price as set on the menu and had the receipt to show that. We did not get the fries. My partner went to the counter to ask for them. She was told, in a somewhat surly manner, that the fries were extra and we had not paid for them. When she pointed out that they were on the menu and included in the price, she was told that they were not using that menu!!!! So we backed off but we won’t be back. And as we left, we heard the same spiel being told to another couple about why they didn’t get fries. It would have been so easy and better public relations to simply hand over a few chips, paid for or not. Or to use a current menu.More

Primo team of people. Always greeted with a smile and welcomed. Great to see a business following the covid rules laid out!! Witnessed the staff copping some rude behaviour for this by unreasonable entitled customers

Great peanut slice and choc brownie. Stopped for tea for two en route to Central. Great, friendly and polite staff. The only cafe so far to ask to scan our vaccine passes. Sunny outdoor tables. Next door to Te Muka Pottery shop. Easy shady parking.

Lovely, old-fashioned, comfort food done the best possible way. But more than that the service was amazing. My son accidentally dropped his drink and being a tired and hormonal tween, it was all too much for him. They cleaned up the mess in a flash...and then despite the fact that he’d already drunk half, made him a fresh one, “because I know exactly how that feels.”More

Unfortunately they serve the worst seafood chowder I've had in a log time. I had a total of, hold your horses, one mussel and one shrimp in my chowder!! The only other "seafood" was surimi and I wouldn't even call that seafood, especially not for...$18. A $5 pre-made chowder from the supermarket has more seafood in it... The only thing that I would rate here is the staff but unfortunately that won't be enough for me to go back here.More
