On way from Hamner to Lake Tekapo we detoured via Rangiora to check this cafe out as we liked the menu/reviews
It was immense. Other half says the best coffee had on our trip!
Orange juice fabulous, food was yummy, staff friendly and lots to...see. Clean and so much choice, it all looked yummy and I wanted to take things away as well.
We are going back on our return keg to Kaikoura... detouring slightly again but know it’s worth it.More
Every Friday I travel around Canterbury with a friend on our motorbikes, and wherever possible we have an 'eggs bennie' and then score it. Fools of Desire Cafe always score top for me. Hash browns made from sweet potatoes instead of stuffy bread - Excellent...hollandaise too :) A warm welcoming atmosphere and locally sourced ingredients also appeals to me. And if thats not enough, check out their working beehive - fascinating :)More
We had the most delicious lunch at this cafe today. We both chose the Foodie Buddha Bowl with salmon. It would be the most delicious lunch we have had at a restaurant and we eat out a lot
The staff were so friendly and welcoming...and the surroundings lovely. I would totally recommend this cafe.More
Not only are the colours and design bright and different but the menu holds promise of the most delicious combinations ever thought of! Service was tops - friendly and able to pause in their busy routines to discuss the dish, or enquire if we enjoyed!...I told the lady helping that my dish was the best food I have ever tasted! My experience being from round the world food spots and from the top class hotels. My Riesling wine was like liquid honey and being local was different from other rieslings I have had elsewhere.
This is a cafe where it must be the destination alone!More
💥Exceptional service! Good coffee ☕️and delicious offerings. 🍴My husband, son & I came in for brunch this morning. “FOD is on the corner of Conway lane an has a great urban feeling about the place”. All the staff here are friendly, they go out of...there way to please.
*Husband enjoyed the Farmhouse Breakfast #bacon #poachedeggs #handcraftedsausages #mushrooms #tomatoerelish #kumerosti #sourdough, he thought they offered a good range of quality products (a boutique style big breakie).
*The team went out of there way to accomodate our Son who wanted a more simple breakie that wasnt on the menu, they even suprised him after his meal. Seriously, the nicest tasting choc brownie ever! Thx.
Being a foodie and this being my sorta place I found it hard to choose today. Thinking that I was being boring when I decided on “Eggs Bene” with salmon and bacon”. However my breakie was not the norm or boring, in fact it was exceptional!
The salmon was the nicest smoked salmon I’d had in a long time and it came on a homemade Kumara Rosti, I liked that my bacon and salmon had a slight smoked taste and that the smoked paprika relish added extra quality.
Lovely menu, accomodating for all ......venison, seafood chowder, Poke/Buddha bowls, locally produced meat and produce. Plenty of energy style foods and all of my favs. Avocado and feta smash with smoked paprika relish. Plus the cabinet food looked delicious “Raw slices, they all looked incredible”. Green detox’s salads filling with Edame and all the goodies we love with an offering of adding Chicken or Salmon. I could eat the green salad and salmon for lunch daily.
A great placed for #vegetarian offerings as well.
*next time we come back we shall also try the Nz locust entree with light greens and chilli salt. #nzwildfoods
Sorry no pics, trying to be present with the fam, shall take some next time.More
