Went there tonight with the family. My wife and I ordered entrees and mains, and the kids ordered mains, with desert to follow. After 20 minutes, we ordered a couple of wines and drinks for the kids, plus I also asked for water (surprised it...wasn't delivered). About 5 minutes later our entrees arrived. I said to the waitress that could we get the water as well please, and she left to get it. Mean while another waitress arrived and was pouring my wife and my wine and the carafe of water was literally smashed down onto our table. Nothing said, just smashed down, literally shaking everything on the 2 tables, and walked away. Even the waitress pouring the wine was shocked. Had our mains and the kids and my wife wanted desert, waitress nowhere had to ask someone else, then got desert but no cutlery. Which we had to ask for again. We didn't wait around to see if they would ask if we wanted coffee. A real pity as the food was great but the service soured the evening for me.More

Price at $69.00 is high and the food quality very average. Bread was stale, vegetables over cooked, salads pretty poor, some desserts also didn’t seem fresh. Meat and fish were good. This buffet reminded me of the old days (80s )and not as good. Staff...were nice and views good. I would expect better from an iconic hotel but felt captured.More

the service was fantastic. Not a large menu ,but what we had to eat for our dinner ,both evenings, was beautifully served, well cooked and very yummy. The tables are well apart, comfortable seats ,and the view was unbelievable. Watching the sunset over Mount Cook through...these big windows I will never forget. The people who served us were very friendly . The whole atmosphere is something I will always remember.More

Heard great reviews about this restaurant from friends, tried to book for a Monday night for a special dinner, and apparently only open to those staying onsite. Very disappointing when you try to book ahead. The lady also wasn't very helpful.

We’ve just enjoyed dinner here on the $57 2 course meal deal plus we added 2 sides. Both courses were served promptly and service was exceptional. Couldn’t fault! Food was great and cooked perfectly!

We dined here both nights and it was delicious. I would recommend the three course option even if you are not a big eater I think most would manage. The entree ,mains and desserts were sooo delicious!

Well... the expectations weren’t very high to start off with but boy was this place horrible! I ordered the hot salmon plate and it came out completely freezing cold with a MASSIVE chunk of plastic sitting inside the salmon and didn’t even offer a refund!!...My husband ordered the steak sandwich which was bland and had no flavour. Then the wait on food was 1 hour and they forgot my daughters food 😢 weetbix it’s was for us.More

We had the pork belly as a starter, was bordering on cold and had little flavour. Mains were alot better, they were warm and reasonable tasty, although we had to ask if they were actually going to be served. It was an hour between starter...and the mains arriving. Service was good and came with an apology, for leaving us waiting. Not in any rush to go back.More

I seem to remember it was $59.00 NZD - which I felt was expensive for a typical buffet. The alternatives were closed at the time of my visit for renovations but probably open now for the ski season. I'd suggest you contact... More
