The staff are very helpful. The foods taste delicious and considered big portion for Asian (I am Malaysian : )). The sun get in to the cafe nicely. All seats are with stunning Mountain View!

We made a booking for 6:30 PM and drove to the café from our nearby motel. The place was really crowded but our table was ready. We both had the salmon dinners with horseradish and hollandaise sauce. The food was very good.

Have always loved the feel and atmosphere of the Old Mountaineers but this time, it felt like the commitment and food were slipping a little. Closing very early, shut on Mondays and the fabulous fire left unlit.More

We don't have the fires on until the very cold weather starts as you may have noticed we just invested thousands on central heating with radiators all along the walls which keeps clients cosy. Difficult to know what was wrong with the food as you...More

Good food; good value and great service. All meals that we had were very filling (which was a good thing as the night was cold). Booking essential; down side it that is closes early

There are just not too many choices in the Village area. To get to other restaurants, you'll have to drive 20-30 min to the next town. There is not really a store where you can buy food in the Village either. Either stock up before...More

If you are staying at Mt. Cook, be sure to find this little gem of a restaurant located near the National Park Visitor Center. The coffee and meals are very good and less expensive than at the large Hermitage Hotel at Mt. Cook.

Went here for coffee, snacks and an evening meal over a three day period and kept going back as better than the ‘bus barn’ up at the big hotel on the hill. After a suggestion from the excellent staff (young NZ ladies) we booked a...More
