Only in for coffee so can’t give too much opinion. Was a good cup. Had scones and couple of other things in the cabinet plus a menu. Didn’t open till 11 but that’s I guess because of tourist number and will change.More

Thanks for your review and great that you enjoyed the coffee. Our hours vary due to an acute staff shortage. The owner is at the helm but managing many other roles and our chef only works 4 days a week. Have had adverts for staff...More

This is one of the very few restaurants near (or in) The Hermitage still operating in the current challenging time and it deserves support. Its (take away) hamburgers in the evening are the best meal you are likely to get in the whole area. Charlie...Hobbs is one of the great characters of Aoraki Mt Cook and both he, and the little bookshop where his partner Mary's lovely books are on show, will add to your experience.More

Outstanding coffee with the most spectacular views. Simple but pleasant environment. DIY approach to service due to COVID impact but it just added to the relaxed and welcoming environment.

Not to flash, shame the food did not match everything else in the hotel. Just either bring your own or accept the food is not value for money although the service is really good.

During the Covid slow-down, the cafe appears to be operating limited hours with a menu mainly consisting of pizza or burgers and accompaniments.. We enjoyed an excellent burger and a delightful cold beer. The host was friendly and welcoming and the service was efficient..

Excellent! Yes, doing the best we can with no Kiwis applying for jobs and with up to 90% of our clients cut due to govt policies at this time. Thanks for your understanding and delighted you enjoyed the good quality food!

We popped in for a small lunch and ordered 2 burgers. When they arrived we said, umm maybe one! We both finished our burgers and probably, if we had shared, would have had a fight over the division. They were the best, freshest burgers ever!...Highly recommend this place!More

Pizzas were fine, although we got hit with a 20 per cent surcharge - 5 for doc levy and 15 as it was a public holiday. Pizzas were served on disposable plates. Very odd for a national park when presumably rubbish is a bad idea....Staff seemed bored - only two tables full. Can’t help thinking without the surcharge they would have made more money, and I left feeling ripped off.More

Good to hear the pizzas were fine. We cannot afford to open if we do not charge a surcharge on a public holiday as the penal rates on such minimal profit items are so bare. DOC charge operators for ground rentals for bare land on...More
