Very tiny place, must book a table. Takeaway menu quite limited. Food is good, they need to extend the menu. Not trying hard enough

This was a lovely little place - a real find ; a dinky little Japanese restaurant in Methven . We really liked thew klara-age. The chicken was really fresh and tasty while the coating was lip-smackingly good.

Called in for takeaway after a day of skiing Mt Hutt. In business for 16 years, our meal was beautifully prepared, thoughtfully packaged and thoroughly delicious.

Would highly recommend Aqua restaurant. It’s a little tiny restaurant and felt very authentic. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Service was with a smile.

After read reviews we had great expectations. Its cute and cozy inside the lady who runs it is lovely but the food fell well short of what good japanese food should taste like. With such a limited menu they should be nailing it just have...to question if the chef is qualified? Sake was luke warm not hot. Carpaccio was way to salted. The chicken fried rice was missing chicken and the Karaange was ok but must have a shortage of mayo. So we thought we would give it another go the sashimi was ok but didnt have much taste. The beef and rice was more onion than beef. The squid tentacles and chicken JFC were ok but had to ask again for mayo. Great that its a BYO as that keeps costs down. If you want good Japanese a drive to Lake Tepeko is where you find out what good Japanese food is all about.More

Delicious Japanese with some unique dishes. I over ordered. Two per person or 3 for 2 people is ample.

Great small dishes to share - amazing flavours - would definately come back for more. Good range of Japanese beers and Saki too.

Very small servings for takeaways with a high cost. Taste was okay - not good, but not bad, just okay.

A very small restaurant just near the Irish pub, and yes, you could almost believe you're in a japanese ski village restaurant. Staff very nice, food inexpensive and tasty, washed down with a Japanese cocktail and a Kirin.

A weekly treat. I love this place the food is inexpensive and just down right yummy. The service is top notch and the staff are always friendly and nothing is ever a problem. A very authentic Japanese tapas restaurant. If you are coming by Methven...or staying you should go and have some dinner or lunch or even takeaways in the park.More
