We had traveled from Christchurch in a camper, and stumbled across this little gem! We had a very nice home made meal each. I had a fantastic beef burger, probably the best one I've ever had! Cynthia had some home made soup, which was fantastic....More

We went to stop here for just a coffee along the way. It shouldn't be too hard to make a decent cup of coffee, but apparently it is, as my long black tasted more like a rotten kiwi soaked in a cup of hot water...More

We had a fantastic time eating at the VBC. We randomly came upon it at lunch time, and stopped for a meal. They had a kids menu, and was pleasantly surprised to find something besides just the standard kids meals of hamburgers and fish/chips (which...More

Called in on Sunday for lunch and was disappointed with a very limited menu. No ribs, no blue cod, no platter. We finished our drinks and moved on!!! Sorry, but we wont be back in a hurry.

Description
We offer good, honest, hearty fare. We are not fine dining, but believe in giving value for money. Our Blue Cod is becoming famous by all our guests who pass this secret on to others. The beers are all brewed on site and have had wonderful reviews from peers and those who like craft beer. Tasting paddles are available so you don't have to commit to just one beer. Our main ethos is to offer excellent, friendly service and give everyone a brilliant experience as they dine, inside or outside in our beautiful rural setting.
