We had dinner again at Eat last night, sitting upstairs on the balcony watching the world go by in such a lovely relaxing setting. I loved the Red Thai Curry last time and was close to choosing that again but we looked at the Specials Menu and chose from there. My grilled marinated blue cod on wasabi mash with roasted red pepper sauce and carrot and ginger purée was DELICIOUS and beautifully presented. My husband chose the Lamb Rump Salad with lovely dressings (balsamic, mint, mandarin flavours). He was very happy. The service was spot on. Thank you!

The restaurant was the only one open here in Fairlie the evening. The moment we walked in, smiley staff seated us and lighted the candle. The service was attentive and the food very nice. We ordered a very nice tender lamb shank and the butter chicken was very delicious followed by vanilla brulee and affogato. We will definitely remember this place for the next visit.

Wow that's all I can say capachino delish smooth tasty and plenty of it.
Breakfast yummy eggs cooked to perfection and a wonderful host and service.
Very much enjoyed I would recommend anyone stopping though fairlie who is hungry to stop here very good portions for your money.

Here for brunch.
Nice staff but the food isn't really worth it.
Expensive and poor quality.
Just had bacon and eggs - the bacon was overcooked and the eggs were bland.
Filled a hunger spot but just food for food stake.

We chose to have our morning tea here rather than queue at the bakery and i'm so pleased we did. The Irish man who served us was so friendly and welcoming he certainly contributed to making our short stop enjoyable. The coffee was fabulous and we shared a tasty cheese scone. A lovely cafe and one we would definitely return to without hesitation. The cakes looked delicious and I hope to sample one next time.

We were impressed with the front staff's friendly and top notch service. The barista makes excellent coffee!
Breakfast was also very good with eggs cooked perfectly. You'd be surprised how often other cafe breakfasts have been very tragic. However, we couldn't fault anything at all!
We travel a lot but always make a mental note on which cafe has our fav coffee makers/specific beans. This will definitely be our place to stop the next time we pass by.

We’ve just had a delicious dinner there. We’ve always tried to check the lamb dishes while travelling in New Zealand and the lamb salad we’ve just had was simply perfect. Put on top of that a very friendly service and the outcome is something to remember. Thank you!

Great service and yummy food.
We celebrated Mum’s 80 th birthday at eat. There was a great selection of food to choose from and Kim was most helpful when organising the night. We all ordered different things of the menu and everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was friendly fast and efficient. Thanks for a great night eat highly recommend!

Looking for a small dinner I found this restobar with tables in and outdoor. I chose the avocado salad with chicken. It contained also roasted hazelnuts, cranberries and pieces of mandarin. Thanks for this nice recepy :-)

Had to go to Fairlie today, and as it was around lunch time we decided to go to Eat Deli bar, we always had beautiful meals there. Well what a shock, I ordered a Ham, cheese and tomato Toasted sandwich, what I received was 2 pieces of burnt bread with cold ham, cheese and tomato inside. What a let down, if I had known it had new owners I would have gone to the pie shop, now I am sorry we didn't. My husband had a egg bacon and hash brown in a bun that he really enjoyed. At least that was one good thing, but may not bother again.

Absolutely DISGUSTED by how the male staff unlocked and opened the toilet door with a key while I was using it, just because another customer wants to use it. Wtf seriously? Who in their right mind unlocks a toilet when it’s in use? I shouted that someone’s inside but to no avail.
My husband confronted the male staff later but all he said was that there is nothing he could do about it when another customer wants to use it. Wtf?! How does this even make logical sense? Ever heard about WAITING? I was barely in the toilet for 2-3 mins before having such a rude shock.
Zero apology from the entitled customer, zero apology from the male staff working at the morning - noon shift today. This is NOT how you treat your customers especially after such an ignorant and grave mistake.
If you’re thinking of bringing your daughter, girlfriend or wife here or you’re one yourself, I suggest you avoid this UNETHICAL trash bag of a place and support other local cafes in the area instead.
I’ll give this place 0 stars if I could.

We stopped in Fairlie and while trying to decide where to eat we were recommended to go to Eat by a local. The service was lovely. There were many interesting things on the menu that I wanted to order. In the end the Chicken wings were delicious and the Teriyaki chicken salad likewise. The coffee was good and strong too.

Great food and outstanding customer service from the lovely young boy serving our table and working behind the counter. Extremely polite, chatty and all around great at his job. I enjoyed the pancakes with bacon, banana and maple syrup and they were delicious. Decent sized serving that I couldn't finish! Really lovely experience.

Called in for a coffee and decided to grab something from the menu as the cabinet food was limited for brunch. The girl who took our order was friendly. Coffee was OK but not very warm. I had pancakes and when I turned them over because I could taste something was burnt, 2 out of 3 were really overdone. The bacon was missed off the other order and eggs were slightly over cooked. Would call back in again, hoping this was just a one off.

Had an amazing meal, entree of squid was just delicious, followed quickly by our nachos and corn fritters options for mains. Both were very impressed with the excellent service from the small team running the venue, quick service, quality of food and tastiness along with warm hospitable vibe. Lots of walk-in diners like us, taken in their stride. We would highly recommend.
