We stop off here all the time for the simple reason as it’s one of the best cafes in the Lower North Island (prob NZ). My favourite dish is the beef croquettes. Reminds me of bitteballen that you get inn Amsterdam. It’s served here in...fresh pillow soft ciabatta with rocket and it’s simply amazing. Can’t resist a cronut on the side. Coffee is great and I struggle to find anything on the menu that I wouldn’t eat. If you don’t try this cafe when passing you’re simply missing a trick.More

Read about this place on Stuff and am so happy to have visited. It was super busy and we made it just in time to get the last two caramel cronuts. They are superb! We also recommend the reuben sammies. Coffee is Flight coffee, so...can't go wrong there. Will go back any time we are in the area.More

Best bakery in the area. Cronuts are delightful. And the croissants. Difficult to find such good baked goods. Absolutely amazing

Wow what delicious food! This is a great place, we were sitting out on the lawn in the sun in beautiful surroundings eating the most amazing cakes! A great menu to choose from in a brilliant setting. The staff are great! We will be stopping...by again soon!More

We are a group of ex high school friends who meet monthly at a different destination monthly This month the Clareville Bakery was chosen. There are 6 of us ( sometimes 8) so we tried to book a table in the annex area as we...are a bit noisy when all together. But we were unable to book. We turned up early for a coffee first to ensure we could get the right area. The large table just has bench seats which are not so comfortable when seated for a long time. We asked if we could join 2 smaller tables together with the more comfy dining chairs but this request was denied The food was good but sadly the lamb and kumera pie is no longer available. Been replaced with chicken. I had the Eggs Benedict which I have enjoyed before. This time it was served on a very thin piece of toasted bread which was hard to cut as so thin and crunchy. It meant that there was leftover egg and nothing to mop it up with. The waitress was quite indifferent and didn’t clear away our used dishes. Then she informed us at 2.10 that the place was closed. Again in not a friendly kind manner at all. The staff at the counter were very friendly and helpful. Overall, we felt our dining experience could have been better.More

We popped in one morning on our way north as I had read about how great it was. It was all true! Amazing bakery with passion obvious in everything they offer and do. The cronuts are to die for, coffee fantastic, bread just beautiful ......the list goes on. Lovely and clean, very busy, loads of parking off road and clean rest rooms. 5 Star!More

You used to be amazing, but something is lacking these days. The service was very average. The pastries lacked crispness. Very lack lustre. I used to love your bakery. What’s happened?

In this time of Covid-19 I was shocked at the waitress who served me and a friend coffee. We were brought our drinks in the normal cafe cups, but for some inexpicable reason there were no saucers!!! The waitress picked each cup up off her...tray by spreading her fingers around the lip of the cup, rather than using the handle. I hope she had washed her hands after going to the loo! This is appallingly bad hygiene. Shame on you Clareville BakeryMore
