We spent a Thursday in the Wairarapa recently, and stopped in here for an early lunch (just after 11am). I chose a cheese scone from the cabinet and a doughnut, hubby had the cooked Carterton Breakfast. Both of us had flat whites. A very nice...lunch, very good service, and good clean toilets. There is a spacious indoor seating area with lots of tables and chairs, and when the weather’s nice there’s outside seating as well. Warm and cozy on a cold winter’s day. There’s a really good range of food, both in the cabinet and off the blackboard meu. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area. We also bought a loaf of bread to take home, it was lovely both fresh and also toasted the following day.More

From my limited knowledge of the area it only looked like there were a couple of cafes in Carterton but what they lack in numbers they make up in quality. We stopped off here with the kids and got a great breakfast with pancakes. Coffee...was awesome too, well worth checking out.More

Well patronised by locals and travellers, but generous space including larger tables for groups. Wide selection of food on offer and our requirements were processed reasonably quickly - tasty lunch and good coffee. Pleasing experience.

We chose Wild Oates for a late lunch. What a great of food. We were late in the day and were impressed with the selection of food to choose from. It must be the best in Carterton for providing food coked on site. Would certainly...recommend Wild Oates.More

Popped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Fairly busy which is a good sign. Great varied menu both in the cabinet and cooked to order. I had the creamy garlic mushrooms which were delicious, couldn't quite decide whether they needed salt or not. My...daughter had a New York croquette out of the cabinet and the pancakes. She said the pancakes were very tasty but on the dry side. Friendly staff and nice areas to eat in.More

Big disappointment from previous visit. Cold coffee, flavorless scrambled eggs, chewy b.fast sausages and cheap toast bread for big breakfast.

Wild Oats Café is located just off State Highway 2, almost in the centre of Carterton however, there is plenty of free car parking near the café. The café is very clean while staff were very polite and helpful. There was a very good selection...of cabinet food with some a great menu food also available. I had a quiche for lunch and a large coffee. Both were great. As it was early spring, we sat outdoors where there is a large wooden decked area. At the time of our visit covid -19 level 2 restrictions were in place and all visitors were happily complying with social distancing, etc. Have visited several times previously and found the standard of food, coffee and staff to be consistently very good.More
