You wont be able to find food like this elsewhere. They have an interesting, unusual and very successful way of using spices and condiments. The slow cooked dishes melt in the mouth and there are some unusual cooking techniques used which elevate the ingredients to...a higher level. Both the alcoholic and non alcoholic mixes used in the drinks are outstanding. This is a place foodies need to visit before it is discovered by more people. Excellent service.More

Casual dining experience with fantastic food and service. We saw the chefs pick fresh herbs from the bar garden for our food and cheeky cocktail. Service was so good- attentive, polite and charismatic. Good taste in music too, and not overly loud. We will certainly...be taking our friends here!More

A friend saw pumpkin soup on the menu and suggested Balter for lunch. Looking forward to a hot bowl of creamy soup instead i received a virtually cold bowl of tasteless creamy orange stuff, from which you were scrapping the bottom from the first spoon...and there wad bearly half a dozen full spoonfuls . No value for money in either size or flavour. Partners breakfast ice cold peas and raw tomatoes. Not his tjing for coojed breakfast. Wont be back for brunch again in a hurryMore

Glad we took the opportunity to try the Balter cafe rather than rush our way through to the next town. The menu was full of exciting surprises, the usual fare with little Indian twists. Bonus having the outdoor space at the back with toys for...the kids. Everyone enjoyed the food amd look forward to going back. Only knock was they seemed to service others their food a good while before us but I’d give them another chance.More

Very nice kiwi fusion meals. Some nice and rather unusual ingredients combinations make this a nice change.

We were so lucky to be able to just walk off the street and get a booking on a Saturday evening, No delays for food. The waitress was so friendly. Food was probably not as a hot as I would have expected but we were...very grateful and will come back again.More

Omg! Amazing dining experience. Food fantastic, friendly staff, great atmosphere. No negatives. Only improvement suggestion is to let guests choose from a range of liqueurs (instead of sambuca only) for the flaming cheese - which was an amazing entree!!
