We had 2 very good meals here while in town. There are many different types to choose from including vegetarian and GF options. We love the fries with special sauce. The employees were all very friendly despite being super busy! Not a lot of seating but we did notice quite a few takeaway orders being picked up

Good Burgers

Great selection of tasty burgers, including chicken, fish and veggie burger options. We both had the Royale with cheese. Burgers were large and juicy. The fries are a huge portion. We split an order between the two of us and ended up leaving half behind. We sat at the counter and the friendly staff chatted with us as we ate. It made the meal more enjoyable.

AMAZING PLACE & SERVICE

I wanted to say a big thank you to Louise who works there. I left my phone and wallet in the public bathroom and drove back to Tauranga and Louise kindly went and got it for me and kept it safe. I really appreciate it! We loved our burgers- juicy and fresh- and the service was great. Will recommend Soul Burger to everyone who goes to Whangamata! Thank you!

Tonight (2.12) I ordered 3 burgers + soul stud fries costing over $50. I was extremely disappointed with the satay spice burger I ordered. I found the burger patty dry made worse with no satay sauce. My husband drove down to pick up the order. Due to my health I wasn't able to walk down to Soul. My husband put our young baby to bed I rang Soul where I spoke to two different acting managers...as I had eaten the burger a refund wasn't offered. The second acting manager offered me a drink if I was to pick it up tonight. Due to my health I am not able to walk down and back to Soul. I declined the offer. Offer was not offered to pick up tomorrow. So take this as feedback...when someone orders a particular burger please ensure the customer gets what is ordered from the menu. Andrea

Dry burger and saggy fries

They were empty of beef burgers, so had to go with a chicken one. The bun was okay, but the burger was very dry. The fries weren't fried at all. They were light in the colour and still cold inside. Also got the fries a long time after the burger, so kind of waste.

So many great choices. Asked staff their veggie preference and they didn’t steer me wrong. The Heavenly Burger with portobello mushrooms was excellent! My husband enjoyed his beef burger. Fast friendly service!

On first glance this little burger bar looks like a thousand others, being a crusty old git the nose rings of the young woman were a little unappealing, but the lady was lovely. The burger I has (chicken) was one of the best I've had and large with it. Go there

John, very impressed you didn’t judge our wee book by its cover and came on in anyway. We have an awesome (and very eclectic) crew of champs keeping the wheels turning at Soulburger and proud of it! Burger me

After a good day on the beach we decided to have a burger each on our way home. We got a very tasty chicken and beef burger with chips of course. We didn’t have to wait long despite the place being busy. The staff were very helpful and courteous which made our visit well worth the effort.

Really impressed with the chips

Really impressed with the selection of burgers. When they arrived they were fresh on nice big buns. The chips were just the best. Friendly staff, great spot to sit people watching. Well worth the visit.

Greeted by lovely friendly staff and enjoyed burgers that Samuel Jackson and John Travolta would have killed for. All topped off by excellent photo bombing skills. Well worth a stop. Thanks guys 🤗

Delicious burgers

Large menu, lots of choice, was very busy so best to arrive early. Burgers were large and very filling. Lots of flavour. Chips were hot and well seasoned.

Excellent burgers

Had a family weekend in Whangamata and saw Soul Burger as we walked around We all agreed this would be a great place to get dinner for Saturday night- it was so the right decision Five people became five very satisfied people - not a scrap of burger left! Could not recommend this place more highly if I tried Very helpful and friendly staff Thank you for great burgers

Unfortunately this eatery served me a regular burger bun rather than a gluten free bun as ordered. I am celiac and this slip up has caused me huge issues. I made sure when I ordered GF, I asked the waitress when she bought us our meals, and I AGAIN took it back to the counter to make sure a third time... All the while they assured me it was. Might be ok for a regular person, but do not visit here if you are gluten free!

Heya.. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience. We know how serious this condition is as we have celiacs in the SB family, we understand and take this very seriously. ALL of our staff are trained NOT to guess about allergies. We have "celiac" as a command on our till, we have a separate fridge for the buns, a separate toaster, we make them on a separate tray and are made and bagged by a specific staff member to ensure there is no cross contamination. We have a small staff that have documented training for allergies. As you say you asked 3 times to confirm it was GF and 3 times you were assured, do you think there may be the possibility that you consumed gluten somewhere else? Our GF buns don't look like our regular buns so would be easy to see the difference for our staff. If not we are truly sorry and hope the best for you. Regardless we have already revisited and shared this experience with our staff for training as a refresher. Hope to see you again. Best wishes.
