Mum's 82nd birthday. We always love the chowder... but the waiter just didn't hear us... 3 times we asked for ice, had to ask for drinks twice. The Manager Lady was intimidating and had the persona of a squashed bug... telling us, we HAD to...order a BOTTLE of that wine or there's only 2 choices of chardonnay and both were not good. For the price, it could have been a far better experience, it was a Tuesday, and hardly anyone around to take so long and forget orders...More

A good restaurant to entertain friends. Two visits in the last week. Crowded on the weekend, quite empty during the week. Good food on both visits. Nice wine list and selection of local beers

Have been twice in January 2023, food was ok. Fish and squid over cooked in my opinion. Meat eaters I dined with were very happy with meal. I went same time in 2022 and was much happier with the standard of food and the price....Feels like price out ways quality. Shame because the service is fabulous and the restaurant is a lovely space for both large or smaller groups. New Years was both years was super fun. Great outside space and shots!More

We have eatern here many times pre covid and it doesn't disappoint. Had seafood chowder, fish and chips, chicken burger and pizza. All very good. Seafood chowder my favourite 😍

Bitterly disapointing experience. Looks like we've lost the only restaurant in town. Table booked at 7pm, still waiting at 9pm for our main meal. Walked out at 9.15pm. Resturant unable to cope with their bookings. Establishment really badly managed and a total embarrassment for us...with overseas visitors.More

Time to catch up with friends without being rushed. Warmth, atmosphere and decor felt inviting as soon as we walked through the door. Waitress was exceptional, thanks for recommending 'cheesy loaf', yum! Our meals were tasty and a good size, though I would have liked...more green vegs and mash. It was a bit of a mixed bag - one server was faultless, the other kept forgetting us or not seeing us. I think the junior staff need some more training (slopping a coffee all over the saucer and tablecloth and then just walking away...is really not done). Some of our dishes (such as the chowder and one of the pizzas) were terrific - others disappointing (burgers). All in all nice place though.More

It was OK. We got in for early dinner. It wasn't busy, yet waiting time for food was 45 minutes (table for 2, just mains, two steaks). We don't mind a wait if what comes out of the kitchen is great. But we've been served...a bland potato gratin, a few boiled or steamed veg and overcooked steaks. Medium rare came out well done. We didn't dare sending them back in case there was another 45 minutes wait as the restaurant filled up by that time. On the upside, good wine and drinks, and lovely waiting staff.More

Came for dinner with a group of friends and the server just wasn’t on the ball.. felt like we were hurried to order, order wasn’t right and then it felt like we were hurried out instead of hanging out for a few more drinks with...our friends in the garden bar part. Foods nice but it’s pricey. Probably won’t be going back because family members have been told they’re “not welcome” for no good reason.. not a very professional place. Sad because it’s our local.More

Family friendly. Generous portions. Kids menu is fantastic. Usual chicken/burgers and chips if that’s what you want, but also has grilled chicken with mash/chips and steamed vegetables, of course I sampled it and it was delicious! a huge win! The pizza us adults had were...also delicious. Glad we got a small each for lunch. We struggled to finish them. Thank you. We will be back!More

We didnt book and the main restaurant was full, but the waitress found us a perfectly suitable table in the public bar. Excellent service with fantastic food. My wife had the beef cheeks and I had the lamb. Desert was a sample platter. Just delicious,...the whole meal, with a lovely red wine of course. Cant remember the name but a great selection of wines available. Remember to book!More
