Stopped here for a quick lunch...other half had toast, bacon and perfectly cooked poached eggs, I had salmon and salad...Salmon was very undercooked and also I asked for dressing on the side which I thought they had but then realised that they had poured dressing all over it and given me more on the side...not a big deal but they had put so much on it spoilt the overall flavour of the salmon. Staff were pleasant and efficient service.

See title. When we arrived, it was reasonably filled with people. The snacks/pastries in the pantry looked tasty. Order at the counter, order delivered at the table. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Nice cabinet food and slices at a decent price. Not open evenings, like most café, but quite busy all day. The usual daily specials board as well as standards and variety of sweet courses.
You must try the Swiss Delight slice..!

We enjoyed a nice break at this cafe. It was late in the afternoon but they were willing to open an already closed kitchen if we wanted. The staff were really nice and helpful.
The cafe was comfortable and the coffee and food really good. The stairs may be a problem for some but there is a lift.
We will come back.

Breaking a trip from Auckland to Tauranga, this cafe is quite an oasis above the main road thru town. It is above the only set of traffic lights for miles so makes for interesting viewing. The staff a nice and friendly, food is typical cafe fare but they do a great coffee. Toilets are very clean and quite pleasant. Free parking is available behind the building. Now that we have found this we will use again.

Ordered three meals, got two. Okay, we all make mistakes, ordered the granola, plus a coffee. Got cereal, not granola, didn’t get coffee. You’d think you’d try a bit harder after the first mistake. I suggest they either buy some granola or change the menu.

Had a coffee break here and tried a BLT too. All very good and great value for money. Very relaxed atmosphere and plenty of seating. Staff were very happy and pleased to serve you. Food was fantastic and very tasty. Thoroughly recommend.

Called here for lunch with husband and cousin. Not been to Katikati before so our visit was totally naive of any recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our BLATs (Bacon Lettuce Avocado and Tomato, in toasted panini) and a side order of fries. Just hit the spot. Service also very good. Thank you!

A one nighter in Katikati resulted in a quick wander through town and a breaky stop at Cafe on the Balcony.
Coffee was great. French toast with bacon and bananas was quickly devoured by the BF. Creamy mushrooms on toast were disappointing as more onion than mushroom was involved. It was tasty but not enough mushrooms, maybe lay off the onions a bit.
Service was friendly and fast.

We went here for lunch, my husband and daughters meals were fine but mine I just about broke my teeth on the rice, there was chuncks of hard rice. I gave it back was not impressed. They gave me another plate but the damage was done I did not enjoy the rest of my lunch. No offer of money back or change of menu.

the pad thai and bacon and egg, plat meal was awesome, was served very fast and our cravings satisfied definitely. Staffs are very accommodating. the location is so nice because we sat in the terrace and guess what ....its overlooking all the shops, establishments and the beauty of the small town. Cafe balcony is well ventilated and they have enough space to have coffee with friends and with free wifi access internet connection.

My son & I had lunch at the Balcony Cafe as it was the only one open afer 1.30pm on a Saturday. Goos selection of food - had a toasted croissant. Service was quick & friendly.
Sat at an inside table as very hot ouside.

Quick visit. Staff friendly and efficient. Some reviewers must have been somewhere else...
Hot chocolate was actually hot and tasted of chocolate with creamy foam on top as it should be. Partner's latte also nice and hot.
