Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very uninspired food, somewhat overpriced. Hard to escape the conclusion this plave is somewhat cynically just exploiting its location and not trying to attract repeat business.

if you come to Castelaudary by boat l recommend you order your cassolette at the capitainerie before 17h30, it will be delivered by the chef in clay bowls to your boat and its a fair price. highly recommended, (don't forget to return the dishes!!

Surely this restaurant can only be sustained due to its proximity to the port and the many customers who will come off one of the many houseboats populating the port of Castelnaudary. We were a group of seven and it took almost three hours for...all of us to have a complete meal. The children’s menu was served even before the adult’s starter, which meant that they had to wait for hours after having their food. The quality of the food was far below average and certainly not worth the wait. Avoid the place if you can.More

We had reserved for eight at 7.30 pm and arrived punctually. Of course we had cassoulet. A very local dish but sometimes difficult to accomplish as it assembles different meats, beans (call them "lingots") goosegrease and breadcrumbs among others. Well the result was very tasty,...and although we ate plenty (portions were bountifull) we had zero complaints on the next morning and eight satisfied guests. Let me add that we drank la cuvée du patron and enjoyed a nice desert.More

We were late looking for lunch (14.30) and although they had finished service madam very kindly enquired from the kitchen and offered us cassoulet which we very happily accepted. It was very tasty and filling.

We researched places to have cassoulet, Castelnaudary being the home of the dish, but in all honesty it didn’t live up to our expectations. The dish was flavourless and watery and the beans on top were grilled so they were crispy and crackly when you...ate them. We bought two different ‘ready made’ cassoulets for our canal trip and both were decisively better than the restaurant-made cassoulet. Shame as we had high hopes. For 18 Euros per person, we were disappointed.More

Our group of 4 had cassoulet, salad and a couple of main courses, followed by ice cream. The food was fine but unexceptional. The service was good. The setting was pleasant right alongside the canal du midi.

We enjoyed the cassoulet served at this restaurant both for the food and for the setting. We docked our Locaboat directly across the canal and walked over a scenic bridge, which was convenient. The cassoulet came with a very fresh salad. We had more than...we could possibly eat, so our server packed us a to go box in one of the cassoulet bowls. We enjoyed it again the next night tied up to the canal bank. I would happily return to this restaurant.More

The restaurant is in a lovely location at the side of the canal and as we heard this was the town to try cassoulet we tried here for lunch. We ordered one cassoulet and one greek salad to share. The salad was very good, fresh...and garnished with slices of melon and orange. The cassoulet was a bit of a disappointment. The sausage was good and the one piece of meat very tender but the rest was very bland white beans lacking any flavour. Shame, but I wasn't overly impressed.More

Lovely friendly restaurant in Castelnaudray. Perfect place to sample cassoulet. One very large pot for two of cassoulet. Loads and loads of sausage, confit duck and rich bean sauce. Really tasty and the meat was so tender. Real comfort food. Great atmosphere for the first...night of our family trip on the canal du Midi.More

We had a very nice lunch here, service was pleasant and helpful. I had the fixed menu, smoked salmon strarter and then fish of the day, accompanied by a nice medley of tresh vegeatables and potatoes lyonnaise. My partner had the goat cheese starter and...duck breast, again well presented. Dessert choice was a little disappointing, but excellent house red wine . Fixed price menus from 22-26 Euros an dof course the Cassoulet specialty which we didn't try. All in all a lovely location alongside the canal.More

Had a great selection of meals to try between the 4 of us. Cassoulet was great tasting and very filling. Lamb ribs excellent, salmon superb, cannard just right. Located on the canal, so an easy walk back to boat. Will visit again.
