My dining experiences at this establishment have always been at least good, and sometimes very good. Most recently, the food has, as I have come to expect, been very good, but is for for the solicitous and efficient service, even when I have chosen to...select from the Special Lunch menu that I have awarded Popsies a full five points for excellence. Sadly, on my recent lunchtime visit there were very few other patrons present, which was disappointing. Finger licking deliciousness. We had chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, chicken pulao and chicken biryani. Out of the dinner menu per item we got 2 serves out of one item. Very tasty food and generous portions. Will stop by at popsies whenever we will be...in Whakatane.More

Was in Whakatane on business and craving for some nice Indian food. Couldn’t have made a better choice! Manpreet (the manager) was a star in the restaurant she worked at in Auckland, and she has brought her million dollar smile and service standards to Popsies...too. Great meal on top of that. I found this restaurant by chance, off the walkway, for lunch one day and returned recently for a second time, as it was so good. The service is excellent and they have a $15 lunch choice, with a house wine included ! Its so reasonable...and very delicious. Just because its cheaper doesn't mean inferior, as my meal was tender, with beautiful sauce and rice, very well cooked and presented yumeeeee.More

We recently moved from Tauranga and were dubious about trying new Indian restaurants. We need not have worried this restaurant is amazing, the food absolutely top notch and the staff are fantastic. The cocktails, worth mentioning, are delicious and very well made. My favourite is...the chilli chicken or the chicken tikka platter. Such tender pieces, and succulent flavours. The madras was beautiful and my partner loved his butter chicken.More
