I ordered the falafal on rice and explained I needed it to be gulten free and dairy free. I paid another dollar to have beetroot dip. After I paid for it, another staff member told me the falafels have breadcrumbs in them now so are...no longer gluten free. Who puts breadcrumbs in falafals??? The previous owners definitely did not. I said to leave them out and Ive included a picture of what I paid $16 for. I didnt get any beetroot dip with my food, dont know what happened to that! My husband's falafel meal was really stale, he saiud it was as though the falafels had been made quite some time ago. This is so disappointing as this used to be a wonderful Turkish restaurant before it changed hands. In addition, there is no longer a light in the toilet and with the door shut the tiny room was pitch black. There was a camera watching me as I went in and out of the toilet so I faced the camera and asked for the light to be returned. Finally, the wonderful Turkish music in this Turkish restaurant has been replaced by constant Bollywood music which sounds really out of place. Not many restaurants are open in Whakatāne in a Monday night and this one now really disappoints!More
