Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great location #Colville #coromandel peninsula. Lovely breakfast - eggs on toast & coffee and great service. Recommend to all.

Stopped for lunch after a trip up to Port Jackson. The food was absolutely delicious and great sized portions. A little bit pricey but that's to be expected where there a dearth of options. Great views of the surrounding ranges too.

This place is well worth a stop to purchase great homemade food with wonderful Kiwi classics available and the bonus is buying their prepacked meat.

Lunch was a real treat here today. Delicious Bacon / Beef Burger, Hotdog and Kumara Fries. Oh and a pot of tea for two. All freshly cooked and piping hot. Well done Team "Hereford & Pickle" We couldn't resist buying some lovely Hereford beef on...leaving, for the bbq. We loved saying Hi to Mum? She's a true sweety! Hope to see you soon. Andrew & Val. We’ve been a few times in the past, the burgers were much bigger. We were honestly shocked at the size of our small handful of wedges which cost $18. The burger tasted pretty good but definitely not worth what we paid for it. Overall very...overpriced, disappointed and wouldn’t go back.More

Cute little shop with homemade sauces and a playground. The beef in the burger was good and so were the sausages. The child's meal wasnt great, and other than the meat in the burgers they were very disappointing and not worth the price. The wait...for the food was quite long and the service wasn't very good. We then ordered a real fruit ice cream which was sooo disappointing. It was painfully slow and the girl litterally counted out 5 blueberries and two blackberries, considering it is summer and berries are in abundance I wouldn't think you'd need to be so frugal. Also the toliets were in a need of a good clean.More

Wow! this little cafe is a goodie. All homemade good old fashioned Kiwi baking, plus homemade jams and pickles plus great meat products from their farm. A real treat! Lovely garden setting and fenced kids playground. A winner!

Get the toasted corned beef and pickle toasted sandwhich. Then buy a jar of pickle before leaving! There is other food available too but buy local!

Took a drive from Coromandel town to have lunch here, the drive was excellent as was the food and service we received. I had the chowder while the others in our group enjoyed the burgers. Fair to say we left with many home baked delights.

Charming little café in Colville. The cheeseburger, BLT and cheese toastie were all very good. The blueberry scone warmed and with butter was simply amazing. You couldn’t ask for a more beautiful setting. A number of tables were available for a comfortable place to spend...some time. Very pleasant staff. Besides a long list of burgers and sandwiches, they also sold local jams, artwork and books.More

We went with a group of 7. We all ordered at the same time and were told we were looking at a 20min wait, no problem. Half an hour later one person in our group was brought his food. The rest of our meals were...slowly delivered with the final burger taking over an hour to be served!! In the mean time other who arrived after us had been served their meals. When my husband asked if our burgers were coming (half our order had arrived 10min prior) he was told soon... And when he asked if they only made 1 at a time because there were such big gaps between meals he was as rudly told the Kitchen had been smashed. At no point was there an apology for the delay and or were we told that the wait may be longer than initially told. A pity because the burgers were good and they had a play area for the kids (Which was lucky as the 2 year olds meal of a sausage and chips was one of the last to arrive).More

Always have trouble deciding which slice to have - they all look so good! Iced chocolates are great and can't beat the wedges - just what you need when needing a break from camping food.

Having been highly recommended, we stopped off for a relaxed lunch in this paradise environment! We were delighted with our choices from their extensive menu, mostly involving their home produced beef, sausages and bacon. Very yummy cakes, hot and cold drinks and ice creams also...available. This cafe is renowned for it’s great range of home make jams, marmalades, pickles and chutneys; such a brilliant, imaginative selection! ‘Highly recommended’ is well justified!More
