Terrific 5 course lunch on a rainy Sunday. The experience exceeded the expectations. Not one course was a bit less. Everything was beautifully balanced, tasty and the wine tasting really added something to the flavors of the food. Where the Michelin restaurant’s sometimes compromise on the taste for the looks, here taste comes first. A nice warm ambiance, it feels more like eating at a passionate family run restaurant.

Celebrating "Sunday Luch" at Imko. Our friends, including an Imko "addict", have eaten here before. This is our second time in this pleasant, classically decorated restaurant with a terrace in the courtyard. On our first visit we were very surprised by Imko's exceptional cooking skills. That was no different this time... food to make you happy. Our five course lunch offered four types of fish.. mackerel, sea bass, haddock and plaice. Each course the fish was cooked to perfection, accompanied by a beautiful looking garnish. Everything just right and a sight for sore eyes. The dessert focused on the scent and taste of jasmine... ice cream and bavarois served on a rice pudding base. I see you thinking..rice pudding? Yes, rice pudding.. but what kind of rice pudding! Simply great! Everything is very good at this address!

Imko has a great reputation as chef specialised in seafood. We went down to PUUR ZEE in Wijk aan Zee and encountered a great experience. We choose the 5 courses seafood menu and it was fantastic. Nicely done dishes with incredible taste. High attention for detail. The wine menu which compliments all the dishes was super as well. We highly recommend PUUR ZEE. Its fair to say that this is not the cheapest place in town, but you will have an unforgettable evening. Highly recommended! The restaurant was fully booked, but teams managed it very well.

Based on the reviews and other recommendations like best fish restaurant we went for a 4 course surprise menu including wine. Why this average rating? Food was good although not exceeding expectation. In fact below expectation because of the high price which belongs to a michelin star restaurant, but this level was never achieved. But also hospitality was below what we are used to. Too fast with serving next wine, taking away plates too fast (I was still finishing my course when they took my wife's plate) and also serving very small glasses of wine. When we asked about that the excuse was that the sommelier said she assumed that we had a half arrangement. Yes, she made up for this by giving an extra glass, but he wrong feeling remains. All and all hospitality can be improved, and price quality not balanced.

The restaurant is very out of the way for us, but after our good experience last time we were willing to spend an hour in heavy traffic to go here again. However, this time, on my mother's birthday, we were very disappointed. We were not allowed to sit outside! on the terrace of the restaurant because of our dogs who are in a stroller. (These dogs go to star restaurants all over the world and never leave their cart. They sleep all afternoon). We were offered an alternative, on the road, where we could sit alone at a table for the entire afternoon. This went too far for me to have to pay 6 to 700 euros for this, so we left. There is no information on the website stating that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant and certainly not on the terrace outside. We called our regular restaurant, Hotel Merlet, where we will sit on the terrace for a wonderful afternoon. Dogs are also not allowed in the restaurant, which is communicated very clearly on the website. But outside on the terrace, this is also mentioned, an exception is made. It's a shame that restaurateurs are so rigid in their apparently unknown rules. We won't make the detour again.

On a beautiful late summer day we sat down with friends for lunch at Imko. It was not our first time eating at Imko, but what a treat it is every time. Our lunch menu consisted of five courses: mackerel, sea bass, haddock, plaice and rice pudding (deviated from this, opting for cheese). Each plate is elegantly laid out, after all, the eye also wants something. But what really makes it so good at Imko is the pure preparation of the fish. And this is executed to perfection. Enjoyed every course, with the sea bass with caponata standing out for me. Fine matching wines. Common yet relaxed service with a lot of attention for the guests. It is clear: Imko is one of the best chefs when it comes to preparing fish. We hope he postpones his retirement for a while.

Food is delicious. Everything is separate, small snacks and more than enough food at the end of the evening. All in all we spent more than 3 hours and not a single moment of boredom. One point, we had a wine arrangement and that didn't go well. To start with, it is poured well before you get the accompanying dish, and not much at that, so it is already empty before the food arrives. I later found an extra glass on the bill. But apart from that, highly recommended and we will definitely come back again.

Chefs Imko and Denny spoil their guests with a multi-course dinner to say "U" to. The flavors pop in all directions and the presentation defies the scale of perfection. Each dish is enhanced with wine pearls selected by sommelier Cathy who brings the story of the wine as if she had made it herself. The team brings everything to the table in a welcoming way. A hit!

Seldom have I eaten such good fish. Seldom have such nice people in the service. Nice ambience too. We had the 5-course seafood experience and it was true to the word. First of all, Gillardeau oysters from France, also extremely tasty. And the wine accompaniment, we congratulate you on that too. It goes very well together. You can see the prices in the photo. Another good idea, half the wine accompaniment. That was more than enough for us. Every dish is worth its pennies, I promise. Thank you.

Excellent lunch on Sunday afternoon. Great food, nice matching wine pairing and fine personal service. Also worth noting - no music, so plenty of room for a good conversation. Recommended - we will definitely be back.

One of my best dinner of my life . Everything was perfect : the place, the people and on top of all the food . I eat the best tuna tartare of my life . Everything is made with care also the way in which the tuna has been cut to give indescribable sensation and increase the taste ! The creme brûlé was the top ! Delicious . If you come in Netherlands you have to book one dinner and ( why not ?) one night in this romantic place . Sorry for the picture I’m posting ... i’m a bad photographer .

We had 5-course dinner in this restaurant and it was amazing! Everything was perfect, staff is extremely attentive and very pleasant, not a slight sign of arrogance as you will find in some restaurants of the same level in France. I have allergies for citruses and all the dishes were adjusted accordingly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Should you find yourself in the Netherlands to experience all things Dutch and find Amsterdam too busy, too international and no longer the satisfaction for the unique and memorable experience you were hoping for, I sincerely recommend you find a mode of transport to get yourself to Wijk aan Zee. This sea-side resort, much less frequented than the overrated Scheveningen, which, let's be honest, you'll never pronounce correctly anyway, provides you with the backdrop for a great walk over the sandy beach. Protected from the north sea winds you'll find Imko's Puur Zee restaurant. Puur Zee is what is says on the tin......pure sea. So seafood in all its glory. Make sure you do your homework before and book up. For that special occasion I would recommend you book a table in the restaurant as opposed to the Bistro. Yes, your budget needs to have some depth to it, but like I said, for that special occasion, please put it on your list of places to visit and must-eat-locations. To enjoy the whole experience, why not book a room so you can take full advantage of the wines that are so cleverly paired with the food by Cathy and enjoy the lovely breakfast the next morning. Now, Imko's food. If you were blindfolded to experience the feast of flavours being presented to your taste buds, you'd be enjoying a good experience, but you'd deprive yourself of the wonderful colours, textures and the pure visual feasts which, even as I write, make me salivate all over again. Fresh and seasonal are the key words. If it isn't available in the local seas, you won't find it on your plate. In our case, our festive voyage included wonderfully prepared and presented oysters, langoustines, squid, halibut. Imko has such a delicate touch and such a talent for marrying flavours with great depth, classic yet totally freshly modern. Imko is modest in his explanation, though passion shines from every corner of his beautifully presented plates. I would recommend you entrust yourself to Imko and Cathy and let yourself be fed and watered by them and their team. Go with their suggestions, they really do know best. A truly wonderful experience to be repeated very soon.
