Had something to eat with our son after a day at the beach. Food is very good! Inside there was a nice play area where my son could have fun while we sat on the terrace. All 3 of us had a different dish and everyone had a delicious meal. Food in good portions and with the salad, for example, you can see that it is fresh. Prices also normal. Staff very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

nice and friendly place. Stopped for a drink while looking for a place to eat in the evening. It was a very nice and family orientated place. We did try to get a meal later that evening but it was very busy so we ended up eating elsewhere. But from what we seen of the place it was defiantly a place worth eating if we had more time

What a top restaurant, we showed a photo of the steak tartare. And we were immediately asked if we were in a star restaurant. It was just a shame to eat it. Ordered breakfast this morning and it was also well done.... We will definitely come back when we are in the area! Service was hospitable and friendly, we felt more than welcome.

What a disappointment.

What a disappointment. Had me looking forward to a nice poke bowl, but came out very deceived. ordinary rice in a kind of mayonnaise, which made it a kind of drape. wasabi mayonnaise instead of wasabi. All in all just bad and tasteless. Had nothing to do with a poke bowl. very sorry about the tuna, which was soft, but tasteless. Never again. Nice place, friendly staff. But a disaster to park.

What we got was good but we didn't get what we ordered. The fish of the day was sole on the menu. When we ordered that we received 3 slip soles. That is completely different from tongue. According to the waiter, it was our fault that when your tongue is offered, you expect to get a tongue and not a slip tongue.

Delicious food in great atmosphere

We dined at Sonnevanck for breakfast and dinner during our stay. Both meals were delicious and presented beautifully. We will absolutely go back.

Since we had an unexpectedly bad experience with the Italian restaurant in Vijk aan Zee, we thought to give this Dutch one a go. We ordered a Crostini Hummus (8,70 euro) and lunch spareribs (18,50 euro). I can say that I enjoyed my vegetarian dish, but the ribs... maybe it is a Dutch recipe that we are not accustomed to. The ribs were kind of cold and seemed to be made or heated in the oven (not on the grill) and had a sweet sauce on top while the barbecue sauce was separate. We also ordered American pancakes and ended up with a salty and sour version that we could not finish. The service was quite good. The Brand weizen beer was good while the other one we ordered (Jopen Moole Nel) was too strange for our taste. They allow people with dogs inside.

Good food, nice ambience, good service.

Came here for Dinner so that we could watch the Champions League as well. A nice big TV to watch it on too! When I said that I wanted to watch the football, they gave us a big table in front of the TV - perfect! The food is good - with a wide menu. I had a variety starter which was fab, followed by a fillet steak satay. The beer was good too! Service was good. Considering it was a weeknight it was exceptionally busy. Will definitely go back.

Wonderful atmosphere, great restaurant and friendly staff . I was here thirty years ago and the place is still "erg gezellig" - a great place. There are communal showers and toilets but everything is neat and clean. Rooms are also neat. I can recommend this establishment.

Good food & service every year...

Since years, I come to Wijk aan Zee every first weekend of March due to the Rory Gallagher Tribute Festival. I like Zonnevanck, it's a nice place with excellent food and service. Although it's quite busy on a Saturday night, I was served very well. See you again next year! P.S. The bread with olive oil is soooo delicious

directly after leaving the beach the first bar/restaurant. lots of beers on the menu. small cozy terras. great to enjoy lunch and watch people go by. lunch was good taste and service quick and friendly.

Great atmosphere, good food and beer in a small seaside town

I stay in Wijk aan zee with work on a regular basis. I stay in a small local hotel to save costs. My bar and restaurant of choice is the Sonnevanck. It is a great pub with a really warm atmosphere. Staff friendly and quick to help. Beer is good, food of a uniformly good standard. Don't pay more for a fancy restaurant as this ticks all the boxes.

Great food, great service

On previous occasions we had an excellent lunch at this restaurant. Today we were a bit early for lunch and opted for coffee. Not only was the espresso very good, they also served a "proeverij" of 3 different cakes (see photo) for only EUR 3.00! The service, as always, was very friendly. This restaurant will definitely remain on our list of favourites.

Excellent

Tonight we had a lovely meal in our favourite restaurant in Wijk aan Zee. As always the food was great, although the Veal ribeye was a bit on the small side this time. The portion spareribs on the other hand was quite big. All in all it is a great place to rest after a nice walk on the beach. Be sure to go here whenever you are in Wijk aan Zee.
