Not a bad restaurant experience, but this could have been better. The food was tasty (but lukewarm instead of hot) and not too expensive. One waiter was friendly and sociable, the other unfortunately was not. The interior design of the restaurant is also in urgent need of updating.

Sunday evening, without reservation to Van der Valk. Upon arrival, I joined the queue at the back of the queue, but within no time everyone was warmly welcomed and taken to a table. There was still room for us too. Starter: salmon and shrimp, main course: grilled sea bass. Well prepared and decent dishes. Everyone can go to Van der Valk, from small children to grandparents. Logistically, everything also runs smoothly: attentive and friendly service, the speed with which the food comes to the table and the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities. Would I want to eat here regularly? No, I think it's too boring for that. But there is nothing wrong with an occasional stop at Van der Vlak.

This restaurant is populair by the locals that live in the town Akersloot. We had lunch and diner many times and we had good times here . The choice of food on the menu is a wide variety of meat, fish and also vegetarian food. I like the creme brûlée from the desert menu , it comes with a little ice cream on the side and chocolate pieces.

In the end, the food is quite fine. We had steak, ribeye, prawns and chicken, which tasted great. In terms of quantity, it is not much because there are few garnishes (fries and green beans). Even the children (6 and 8) are not full with an adult menu (200 gram steak). But it's the little things that annoy: you order the steaks well done and apparently that doesn't work, so half the table can send the food back and you end up eating alone or waiting for it to get cold. The wine and extra garnish also arrive so late that the food is almost finished. And cutlery. Cutlery is always missing. You end up eating creme brulee with a soup spoon. In short, the prices are those of a good restaurant (300 euros for 5 people, without a starter) but the service does not match this price.

Had a nice sit on the terrace for lunch. The service is very friendly. Not always spot on alert, but hey it’s hot outside. Coffee is good for a hotel on that spot. Caesar salad was terrible. It was the only salad on the leaflet menu. Everything of the salad was so NO Caesar. I recommended to change the name of the salad. Tiny pieces of wet lettuce (no Romain salad) cut. One chunk of tasteless chicken breast. With tomatoes which is strange for a Ceasar salad, but menu said pomodori. So no pomodori (cherry tomatoes instead) no Ceasar dressing, but a tasteless other dressing. No parmazan cheese. Poorly boiled half egg. Lots of tasteless croutons. Very disappointing. The reaction of the waiter “ we always make it like this”. So next time order Dutch croquettes or fried egg. Everybody van make that.

Scandalous!!! You order sole and you can't get it off the bone. As a guest you naturally have doubts about whether that is good or not. Even with my own catering experience, But by chance next to me I see that guests also have sole and that it slides right off the bone... there is 1 piece of fillet less on my tongue and I ring the bell with the waitress. First they say yes, but you have eaten it... while we are talking about 1 piece, but luckily she takes the plate with her. Then the same tongue comes back… well I can't even take a bite!!! Just keep going and again part of the bone cannot be removed. The poor waitress cannot solve it herself without her manager.. and I say give me the bill but I would like to leave here. She returns to the table with the message that 3 of the wines have been removed, but the tongue had to be completely satisfied! 1 word scandalous!

Unfortunately not like it used to be. Carpaccio comes from the freezer of the wholesaler and cannot be cut, thrown straight onto the plate from the packaging. Service rarely comes by, always had to shout, eventually walking to the cash register myself. The gentleman behind the bar became angry, because we had to wait for “our” server. We don't do this anymore.

We live in England but regularly visit my mother in Holland. We always have a meal at Akersloot and have never had a bad meal. That is why this visit was so disappointing. The starters were nice, although there was one mix up. The main courses were the main problem. The food was cold, the three fish meals were overcooked and dry as was the duck. The steak was tasteless. Out of 8 meals there were only two that were enjoyed and one of these was a burger!! We complained to the point of actually sending the fish back to the kitchen. The poor young lad had to then come out and explain that apparently the fish was farmed and that was why it was no good. We didn't want to cause more of a scene as we were supposed to be having a family celebration for which we had come over from England and it was upsetting the whole evening. When the bill came they had not taken anything off even though we sent three whole main courses back. All in all the whole evening was a massive disappointment and I doubt we will be back again.

A nicely appointed patio with a pleasant ambience. Came here for dinner with colleagues. The beers nice and cold! The menu was pretty good - with a couple of options that I would have selected. The service was good and the prices as expected. The food was nice - my shrimp cocktail had loads of shrimps, my steak tender and tasty. Would definitely go back again.

We came for dinner on a Monday night so it was the usual ala carte menu - no live cooking stations (which they only have on Saturdays) There were only a few choices on the menu. I had the parma harm and variety of breads for a start. Then for mains I had the steak with mushroom. For dessert I tried the Hazelnut crunch with mascarpone ice cream which I didn't quite enjoy az it tasted bland. The ice cream was better though. Good food but the service could be better. We waited quite some time for our orders to be taken. Then we waited more than 15 mins to get served with our food. Hopefully, it will improve the next time we visit.

1) can you hold a hotel accountable for their misbehaved guests? Guess not. 2) can you hold a hotel accountable for tollerating these guests? Yes you can. Firstly the rooms are awfully issolated, then we had all nighters next door to us, a family with young kids : who plans that? Partying from 10 PM till 1.15 AM went to reception to ask for any alternative room to be receiving only a big mouth and why the hell I didn't come before. To be fair to the reception person, after his visit the noise went down, but the night was messed up for good. Bar is very nice, food is good, restaurant and bar staff very very good, rooms (except noise level) are actually quite spaceful and nicely modern decorated, but the main goal of my stay was SLEEP; and that I had none...

We enjoyed a great family dinner. The staff was very friendly and well trained. They were very responsive to our 2 year old, which helps. The food was of good quality. Nothing exotic but well prepared. All in all a good dinner. Some downsides: the room is great when you are there at an earlier time. During rush hours it's a bit more noisy and more of a "social event". The pricing is relatively high. Not a bad things but it used to be a bit more affordable.

A very large hotel restaurant, very good breakfast buffet with a good range of products in particular fresh fruit and home made bread. Dinner menu not as extensive as some Van Der Valk hotels but good food with good service
