Lovely ambience and warmth greets you as you walk in. So nice to feel the warmth of a wood burner so you don’t have to sit in your puffer jacket eating lunch as you do in north island eateries. The staff and chefs know what...they are doing and do it with integrity. Food was delicious and generous. Surreal setting - in the middle of nearly nowhere with dramatic sea backdrop. Beautifully presented period house with original features. Great service and experience.More

Fabulous place, hot roasted carrot & capsicum soup came with plenty of garlic bread - just the pick me up we needed, & rounded off with a choc/berry brownie & choc/zucchini cake. Good range of choices for us veggies. Staff were lovely & the setting...(inside & out) was wonderful. A destination in itself!More

Excellent food made on the premises and service. A gorgeous setting in an old house with lots of historical information on the area available.

I ordered the Berry Cheesecake and a latte. The Cheesecake came with cream or yoghurt and I chose the cream, and there was plenty of it. It was also furnished with a chocolate decoration and a mint 🍃. Outstanding plus the atmosphere is wonderful and...staff friendly with prompt and careful with detail. Plenty of staff and very busy.More

I had my usual mocha and a slice of mango cheesecake. But the lunch menu looks great. Definitely a place to head for. A town in the middle of nowhere with a great cafe.

Been a long time since my last bowl of chowder at Orepuki. Look this outfit knows how to do food. But making good chowder requires passion and love. The last time I was here I sensed the chowder had been made but it seemed to...lack the love. So it is with great pleasure and a full tummy that I can report that the passion and love was back in the bowl again. I have never had a bad chowder here. Get yourself out there and chow down on something special. I gave this bowl a 9.5/10. Not quite perfect but ohhh so close.More

We stayed in Orepuki a few years back and cafe was great then. This time we were in Riverton but felt we had to drive to this cafe for lunch. Pleased we did. I had a wonderful chowder with homemade breads and my wife had...the soup. Great coffee. Wonderful atmosphere. A must visit place!More

What can I say, great service from the moment I walk in, smells from the kitchen just being awesome. Coffee was the best here by far. Very sunny seating areas and toasty wood fire for winter.

We happened upon the beach cafe by chance and are really glad we did! Our meals were tasty and substantial, the coffee was good and there were appealing cakes and slices which we were unable to resist! Would definitely go there again if we are...ever back this way.More
