o m g, the portions here are tiny, and the food flavourless. Overpriced and nasty, worst restaurant e v a, my friends and I felt nauseated when leaving. Wouldn’t recommend 👎👎👎👎👎

Located next to Lake Tekapo. Most diners are more attracted to the view outside and not the decor inside. Restaurant manager is very efficient. I went yesterday and could not accept any more booking for the night. The manager suggested a time for us to...return to see if there is a table. We did as advised. Amazing! He actually remembered us and said that he has a table for us. The waitress who served us was helpful but not pushy. The restaurant is well managed and food did not take too long to arrive. Definitely order the salmon sashimi that we found to be better than the combination sashimi. Tempura was really good too! We booked to return for the next evening meal!More

Basic restaurant. Looks like old club rooms so a bit off putting when you walk in. Good solid food. Not the best Japanese I’ve had but ok. Wouldn’t say it’s cheap and hardly any vegetarian options.

I had read very good reviews about Kohan. We love Japanese food so thought would give it a go. We were truly thrilled about the service and food. It was exemplary food. Delicious flavours and presentation was of the highest standard. We shared all plates...we ordered. Tempura Blue Cod and vegetables JFC … delicious Beef Tataki.. again beautifully seared with a tasty sauce And lastly a fresh, and gorgeous mixed sashimi… Topped off with a beer and bubbly and with a fantastic view out the window.. what more could you ask for.. we will absolutely definitely be returning.More

Busy dinner service, we were lucky to get a table without a booking. We ordered a range of food to share and the sashimi was hands down the best, fresh and delicious, I would return for this dish. Tempura veg and blue cod were good,...the chicken jfc really needed a mayo with it and the miso was pretty average. Service was good and the views from the tables by the windows - wow.More

We always make a point of eating at least one evening meal here whenever we visit Tekapo. As vegetarians we are never disappointed with our 'must have' dish being agedashi tofu as the chefs at Kohan are THE BEST at this dish as far as...we're concerned!! We also rate their Edamame - fresh & tasty. The staff are friendly and even remember if you've been before!! Anyway, try for yourself - we're sure you won't be disappointed.More
