Very disappointing portion size, totally over priced. Poor selection, two portion size’s advertised but neither adequate for a main course. The whole set up designed to lure you into buying a sharing platter for $99 which is equally as small. This place is a total...rip off designed to exploit the passing tourist who has no other option.More
Blew our expectations clear out of the water. Fantastic, personable staff, amazing food - fine dining with a casual flair. Special shout out to Millie, Michael and James, your attention to our special night made all the difference, thank you SO much to your team...for such an unforgettable night and amazing meal!More
Nice food and super wine list. Waiheke reds and whites and other things tasty. Millie is lovely and she was good with the massive pepper grinders I must say I have a thing about pepper grinders.
Me and my partner had an amazing dinner experience at blue lake eatery and bar tonight!! The fettuccine and lamb were to die for!! The service was amazing especially our server Milly!!! She was so helpful, kind and just overall wonderful!!! We would highly recommend...coming here for dinner and drinks. We had a few cocktails, I highly recommend the current special lavender daiquiri! Absolutely beautiful experience!More
Amazing food and awesome staff! These guys are on top of their game that's for sure. It was a true blessing having Jesse as out host and server she made us feel so welcome and accommodated, this is rare to find after the covid chaos....Drink recommendations from Michael were on point and perfect! The lavender daiquiri drink special on at the time went down like a fresh spring treat. We tried 4 of the 5 starters, all bang on and delicious and we had as a group 3 of the 5 mains which were phenomenal. The deconstructed black forest cake was a massive hit to finish on. Missed the picture for that but highly recommend.More
We dined at the Blue Lake eatery this evening for my partners birthday. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. James our waiter for the evening was 10/10. Friendly, personable and enthusiastically knowledgeable about the menu. He even wished Nick a happy birthday...in his native welsh tongue. Everything about the evening was spot on, down to the music play list. Superb food, we had the lamb and the blue cod, both incredibly flavourful and well balanced. Followed by the chef’s special dessert, a little butterscotch, white chocolate and miso number. Dreamy! Can’t wait to go back!More
Visited this establishment for dinner, ordered the sharing platter at a cost of $99 the platter was small and only had a few samples of food. Extremely overpriced for the amount of food that is served. It would be a platter for one at an...absolute stretch. Made clear my dissatisfaction with the wait staff however the person that served me brushed off my complaint and laughed. Do not recommend this restaurant. Absolute tourist trap. Will not be returning.More
A cheese plate has only 1 type of cheese. To get a small selection as is normal you need a PLATTER which isn’t available. Eye roll…
Venue and staff great. Food delicious, but over priced, expensive small mains, left hungry, not good value.
Highly recommend the sharing platter to sample 3 of the dishes, each were perfectly cooked comes with side salad, but don’t leave until you have had the chef’s duo which on this occasion was the Black Forest apple construction and a fake lemon which turned...out to be one of the best desserts I’ve tried in a while, lovely staff, thanks for a great eveningMore
The bar tender absolutely knew her stuff, i gave a vague idea of what I like and she nailed it. The bartender was wonderful, funny, wonderful. Can't fault the chefs, the lamb and duck were both delicious
Had a fantastic dinner in the Blue lake while visiting Tekapo. Lovely ambience, delicious food (don't miss dessert), a great wine selection and outstanding service from Jesse our server - gave great recommendations for dinner and travel really added to our experience. Would highly recommend
Ate as a family of 5. Ordered the Lamb and the Share Plate. Was a super busy night and the service was great. Food came in record time and was delicious. Catered for our Coeliac family member which was great!
A 4.5 star for me but we can only choose 4 or 5. I would have given a 5 if it had more vegetarian mains choices! We didn’t have any mains during our dinner. Rather, we had drinks, shared starters and a dessert. Whatever we...had was excellent, albeit slightly expensive (which is not unusual at Tekapo). The service was prompt, the food delicious and well presented. We had: - The Blue Lake cauli wings, which were nice - The Rustic French baguette - shoestring fries, which were excellent. - pumpkin soup, which had too much salt for my liking. The best dish was the dessert, made like an orange! See photo. I would highly recommend this.More
