Great ambiance, marginal food. The ambiance is lovely with a large tree in the middle of the restaurant. The food and service is marginal. I got a hamburger that was served almost raw. When I sent it back to be cooked a bit more it came back minus the bacon, with cold fries, and the burger was like shoe leather. It took 20 minutes to get the burger back and the waiter wasn’t helpful in moving the kitchen along. So disappointing for a restaurant that was this expensive. My recommendation would be to pick another place to eat in town. Go here for a cocktail.

Here's your chance to experience a delicious meal in a treehouse built around a gigantic ficus tree in the middle of town! The menu is extensive and reasonably-priced, especially for a place with such ambiance and wonderful live music. We enjoyed dinner here to take advantage of the live music and gorgeous lighting, but they also serve lunch. We shared a wood-fired vegetarian pizza and a large, delicious salad chock-full with a variety of ingredients – it was plenty of food for 2. The service was attentive and friendly, and it was the perfect way to spend an evening. Dine here for an unforgettable experience.

This truly is a restaurant you visit for the ambiance more than anything else, and if you're comfortable paying a bit more for it, then it's worth it! We visited the Tree House with a group of five and found the atmosphere and live music to be very fun. There are at least 3 or 4 floors, which all wrap around the giant tree growing in the middle of the property, so you get the tree house vibe from almost any seat in the house. The cuisine provided great local flavors and options, the only complaint we had is that it's a bit overpriced.

The decor looks interesting, but this is pretty much I can find as a positive experience. The service was mediocre and so was the food. We asked for non-spicy food, we were told it would not be spicy, but in the end my dish tasted spicy and had black pepper on it. When I mentioned to the waiter he shrugged it off. I guess that due to their location they have clients anyway so they don't care much about customer satisfaction.

The food is not good at all, the main attraction is the tree and the live music. The prices were way too high for the quality of the food, our dishes were served very quickly as if they had just been warmed up in the microwave. I would rather suggest going there for a drink only, the dinner is not worth it.

Too many of the tables and seats are away from the actual tree. Ensure when you phone you tell them you want to be next to the tree otherwise the okay food won’t make up for the elevated pricing. Like I said the food is okay but pricier and not as good as nearby resturants

Great ambiance at this beautiful restaurant. Excellent service and great food. We ordered an assorted platter which included steak, chicken, ribs and veggies. It was plenty of food for two. The steak was very rare so if you don’t like your meat that way, be sure to ask for it well cooked. We have found rare steak to be quite common in Costa Rica so this didn’t detract from our experience. The meal was less than $60 US and that included two generous glasses of white wine so we thought this was quite reasonable. A band started playing just before we left that was excellent.

For being located a relatively small town of Santa Elena, this is an incredibly unique dining experience. You walk up a winding staircase that opens to a tree dining room. The food was delicious, although slightly expensive, much the same as most of Costa Rica. The treehouse restaurant is a must see in Santa Elena.

We really enjoyed our Christmas lunch here. We had a seat overlooking the main road in Santa Elena, underneath the huge tree growing in the middle of the restaurant. The service was great, the food was some of the best we’ve had in Santa Elena, at very reasonable prices off their lunch menu. I recommend the Tree House Burrito. They don’t take reservations, but we had no problems arriving at noon. Their COVID protocols were quite good.

This place is very cool, built around a big tree. We got one of their ‘typical’ dinners with a bunch of meat and tacos (chorizo, egg, steak+potato), empanadas, and sides (for like $20). We also got the salmon carpaccio and very delicious cocktails which for whatever reason all drinks were 30% off (pisco sour was awesome). Overall a tiny bit more expensive than the local soda/hole in the wall but a very fun, romantic, delicious dining experience.

Visited here for lunch after trekking the Monteverde cloud forest. We were very hungry. We opted for one beef and one chicken casado. Definitely the best casado we ate in Costa Rica. Lots of meat. Everything on the plate was lovely and even my one year old enjoyed sharing it with us. Soft drinks expensive. Waiter was really lovely and attentive.

It’s a restaurant built around a tree. There are better and cheaper places to eat locally but those places don’t have a tree. If you want to eat close to a tree this is the place for you. The food is a average. Usual selection of easy chomping fodder with a good range of drinks. The staff work hard but given the popularity of eating near a tree don’t expect a quick meal. But why would you want to rush when you are near a tree and listening to live music?

The restaurant is beautiful - it's a relaxing place to have a nice meal. The food and drinks were both good. We ate lunch, and paid about $30 for two meals, one soda and one cocktail. I thought that was a good value for what we got!

We wanted to try this place because it was so unique. We wished we would have just had a drink and moved on.... the food wasn't anything special. The pizza was actually undercooked so it was way to soft and lacked flavor. If you want good food go somewhere else. In our 10 days in Costa Rica this was our least favorite meal.

Nice location & ambience with easy parking but disappointed with the way the place had developed. We visited the restaurant soon after it opened & were treated to a very good meal for a typical high end price so it went on our list to go back again but when we did & were presented with our main course we simultaneously looked at one another in disbelief of the portion size which was around 50% of what it was the last time we visited for the same price…. Hmmmm we think are we being ripped off just a little here? Quality & service fine but such practices make us vote with our feet & we now go elsewhere, owners take note of lifetime value of a customer, burn them once & it’s adios sorry to say
