We had a late booking but TOTALLY worth it!!! Beautiful, cozy, friendly restaurant. Food was so yummy! I had the salmon and my friend had the lamb! Would totally come back! Thank you for hosting us! :)
The meal was exceptional. Fresh and cooked to perfection. However my fish dish came with what were essentially potato chips - that were interesting in texture but too salty after a few. Nice setting. Brûlée magnificent.
My husband and I have lived in NZ for 5 years & have not had better food than we did last night. We thought the prices matched the dishes well as each element on the plate was amazing! We had the Duck Confit & Lamb...Loin and can highly recommend. We left incredibly happy by our experience with the food & the great customer service. Well worth it (Make sure you book so you dont miss out!) YUM!More
Seemingly the only place in Hanmer Springs serving actual craft beer (local too - Brew Moon and Three Boys)! Friendly staff who we had a chat with at the bar.
Would have considered staying for a meal but there was only one vegetarian option, a...mushroom risotto, which unfortunately is not to my taste. The other meal options were all locally caught meats.More
Kim runs a tight ship, key to a fundamental good dining experience, a simple but joyous menu gives you options and stimulating choices, we pre booked (recommended) and enjoyed entrees of scallops and wild goat followed by beef brisket special and cod , dessert was...liquorice pudding and creme brûlée, 😀 top place , do visit , but book , you won’t be disappointedMore
Tried to dine here for awhile with my family but as soon as we walked in, service wasn’t very welcoming and wanted to back track. Service slow and they changed my meal option without notifying me as they’d run out of specified fish. Didn’t stay...for ‘complimentary’ dessert and went somewhere else. Again, food delicious but service let it down. Been there, ticked that box.More
Not often that we go to a restaurant and are tempted by everything o the menu. Interesting combinations skillfully delivered. A real strength were the sauces and jus - standout features of the scallop entree and of the wild venison mains. Service was also excellent-...including offering a taste of wines by the glass - not often done but appreciated if you want to try something new and know it will match the food.More
Dined at No. 31 during a recent visit to the area. Meal and service all outstanding, loved that they well and truely supported the local area on the beverage list. Had the full experience, starter, main and desert. Beautiful.
