Alpino offers an exceptional dining experience with a great atmosphere that perfectly balances elegance and comfort.
The service is attentive, professional, and friendly, ensuring that every guest feels well taken care of from the moment they walk in.
The food is nothing short of outstanding, with each dish carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor.
While it is on the expensive side, the quality of the food, service, and overall experience fully justifies the price.
Making a reservation is hassle-free, thanks to their efficient booking system, which ensures a smooth and pleasant process.
Highly recommended for special occasions!

On holiday and in Cambridge for two nights this restaurant was a recommendation from an accommodation provider. First impressions - a large and very busy restaurant - full to bursting with a steady stream of customers coming and going. Maitre'D - Daniel was totally in charge and superb at his job. He is hands on and completely involved in supporting his staff. He delivers food / drinks, clears tables, chats to customers, takes payment and all with a warm and welcoming smile. We were impressed. He was coping with numerous demands but still found time to answer our questions, polite, courteous and right on point. Molly, our waitress, was a delight - bubbling with friendly enthusiasm and with an excellent appreciation of the dishes on offer.
My wife had the beef carpaccio which she reckoned was superb to the point of wanting to lick the plate clean. I had the octopus with a fennel and pork sausage.
It is difficult to achieve tender octopus. I accept that. I expected a hint of aniseed from the fennel but did not get it. We both chose the snapper for our main and that did not disappoint. A fabulous piece of fish, cooked to perfection. We shared a tiramisu for dessert. Overall, a lovely meal and superb service. Pricey wine but that was our choice.

This restaurant was absolutely perfect and exactly what we were looking for as a family of 4 on vacation after a long and lovely day. We sat at the elevated bar tables which were a good size and well spaced. The menu allowed us to have a good mix of dishes for kids and adults. The cocktails were well made and the wines by the glass had a good selection. The prices seem reasonable to us although we are not from here so don't know about that. The service was warm, friendly, and professional, and the food and drinks were very well-timed. I really could not ask for more. I also loved the decor and ambience.

I’ve dined at Alpino several times and always really loved the food. I felt like having beef tonight so chose the 400g scotch fillet with a $79 price tag. I expected something sensational for that price. The steak was cooked medium rare which I asked for. No problem there. The steak was not overly tender, had grissle, and the supporting act of leeks and duck fat potatoes were underwhelming. No other garnishment to make it look attractive. Certainly not fine dining. Disappointing for that exhorbitant price. I will go back but won’t be burnt again.
My wife and 3 others had the prawns main and very pleased.

This restaurant is the "gem" of Cambridge. Wonderful food, excellent and knowledgeable service and a great drinks list.
Two of us had the ravioli with fish and prawns and two of us had the spaghetti with duck, rosemary, chilli and topped with an excellent very light ricotta. Both dishes exceeded our expectations.
The atmosphere is friendly and buzzy and it is a very popular establishment so I highly recommend you make a booking so you are not disappointed.

Our party of 20 had the use of the large private dining area for our special birthday celebration. Our dedicated waiter provided seamless service throughout the night. We had the set dinner menu and all meals were generous in size and delicious. We also highly recommend the limoncello margarita which we had as a welcome drink. The whole evening was excellent in every way - food, ambiance, service.

We love spoiling ourselves to Alpino occasionally! The staff are great, always welcoming and friendly, the food is always delicious and presented beautifully and the atmosphere is great with everyone enjoying themselves. Top place to treat yourselves. We will be back

What a pleasure to find this gem in Cambridge. We were recommended this place by our hosts, and were very grateful
We sat a the bar an enjoyed great service from the friendly bar tender who recommended fantastic beers on tap and perfect wine matches for our delicious food.
We shared the calamari, the prawn risotto and the fish of the day which was snapper.
Everything was delicious but the snapper was perfection
Do yourself a favour and go to Alpino

I have dined here quite a few times over the past few years, it’s become our “special place” and the experience has consistently been a delight.
The food is always cooked & prepared to perfection, from the opening “tastebomb” starters to the deserts, wine & coffee at the end of the meal.
The staff also deserve a special mention, they help create an atmosphere to complement the excellent food. Often with different levels of experience, they work with a level of energy, enthusiasm and efficiency which seems to eminate from the effervescent co-owner, Riccardo (I don’t think he ever stops!). They generate a happy, “buzzing” atmosphere that they want to share with diners.
Definitely a favourite.

The service was great! Food was amazing. An overall pleasant experience! Lovely vibe in restaurant beautifully decorated. Been going there for years. Best restaurant in Cambridge I’d say. Great for my teenage children also.
My son had the steak, he said it was cooked to perfection, my daughter is a bit fussy she ordered like a tapas style section of the entrees she was really happy with that! And ate it all! Risotto was my choice and it was divine! Tiramisu was bomb! Perfect amount!

We have eaten at Alpino's twice in recent weeks, a total of 10 meals and every single one has been divine.
My only thumbs down would be wait staff who, while helpful and very polite, could not answer questions about the menu e.g. allergy information. Kept going away to ask someone else.

Greeted as we have been the past few times with great and caring service, which continued throughout our stay. The restaurant was quite quiet when we arrived (around 5.45) but soon filled up by about 6.30 and had a lively atmosphere without being too loud. We had drinks, a (shared) starter, mains, and dessert and left very full and satisfied. A little more expensive than some other restaurants we usually go to but worth it for the treat - we keep coming back for special occasions (last night was for our first wedding anniversary). Molto bene! :)

Being an International organisation based locally, we appreciated the flexibility of the manager to accommodate our party. Although starting with a party of 8 we ended up being 13 altogether. it was a busy time on Saturday night but the manager opened up another room to accommodate us all in one swoop.
Despite being a busy night, we were well looked after and did not have to wait long for our respective drinks and meals after the order.
The staff and manager were efficient and welcoming.
The food was well-cooked and tasty.
it was a jovial occasion enjoyed by all. Well worth the visit and recommended.

Reputation preceded this restaurant but it didn't really deliver for me. The restaurant was busy for a lunch service on a weekday and the food was definitely tasty but on the pricey side at $37 for what was essentially an average sized bowl of elbow pasta with 5 small prawns, even if it was all freshly handmade. My friend had 3 pieces of ravioli for the same price, and her lovely glass of red was $16. I'm not a wine drinker but that seemed a bit excessive too. Not much on the dessert menu if you didn't like coffee - we thought they'd be well served by a cabinet of delicious cakes to go with coffee after a light lunch and that's exactly what we had - across the road at Paddock cafe. The service was friendly and attentive, and it was certainly a popular venue in a little town that has a good choice in eateries.

An absolute delight, from their friendly Ciao! as you enter the door to rolling out with full tummies.
The Atmosphere here is great, very social, and even on a week night it’s busy.
The Staff are friendly and attentive.
The Food is among the best Italian cuisine we have eaten, while the menu is quite unique and creative. We will return to try other dishes.
Try the tiramisu.
