Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I spent a rainy night at the Beinglas Farm while hiking the West Highland Way. Beinglas Farm is conveniently located right on the West Highland Way and offers a variety of accomodations: B&B Rooms, Bunkhouses, Chalets, and Campgrounds. I stayed in a roomy B&B room which was quite spacious and had three single beds in the room. After hiking in the rain all day (with intermittent rain through the night) having the extra space in the room was very handy for drying clothes and gear.
The farm has an onsite restaurant and bar, camp store, and laundry facilities. Unfortunately, because of the rainy conditions, all of the farm's facilities under a roof were overcrowded and congested.
I had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant./bar which has a rustic Pub style. Because of the crowding, seating was at a premium with diners waiting to pounce on any chairs vacated and left available. Dinner felt rushed and the meal unremarkable. Breakfast, served buffet style but with only a mini-buffet was only so-so and had only a few options. There was no fruit or yogurt offered and only bread toast was available with no rolls or croissants.
A 10 Pound key deposit is required which I felt was out of line.
Conflicting and erroneous information was offered by various members of the Beinglas Farm staff, notably from the Reception Staff (which was also the Bar staff) and the camp store clerks. An important message about the next day's hiking about bridge washouts, was never delivered to either of us.

Stayed in one of the B&B rooms Sept 11th during our West Highland Way experience. The room was way beyond our expectations - spotlessly clean and comfortable with everything and more that you could need. Unbelievable! Better than some hotels we stayed in. There were no tables available in the restaurant, but a lady sitting nearby, along with her companions, kindly offered us hers. (Turned out she was the owner). Not only that, she gave us newspapers to stuff in our boots to help dry them out. Food portions were very generous so I felt bad having to leave some of my very tasty meal. A comfortable nights sleep was followed by a hearty breakfast. Really enjoyed Beinglas Farm - one of the best stops along the WHW. Highly recommend.

We stayed here during the West Highland Way, we booked the camping cabins to try keep the cost down, but were unaware that there were 2 types of camping cabins. One lot have raised beds whilst the one we booked were just mattresses on the floor. We had a really nice vegan breakfast and the kitchen made us up some vegan rolls for our lunch which hit the spot. Shared shower/bathrooms were clean and basic - did the job. All in all great time had at Beinglas I would just recommend checking on which camping cabins you booked.

We stayed in one of the wooden huts that houses 4. We were only two but had the whole hut for ourselves.
It was clean and the bedding hired was a nice surprise as it turned out to be really thick sleeping bag with a liner included. Heater available to plug in if too cold (not the case when we stayed).
Showers were nice and warm and toilets clean.
Plenty of nice grass for tents.
The girl at the bar area could have been less moody. lots of foreigners are doing the WHW, not all speak perfect English or have a vast knowledge of the Scottish "delicacies" offered for breakfast

We don't make a habit of reviewing places to eat - each place surely has their own merits. This experience however was very poor. The food was awful: dry, stale, no flavour, old salad, tasted as if out a can. Service also very low standard and a premium paid for the experience. No value for money considering the other great places to eat in the area.

We were walking the West Highland Way and decided to camp here. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t have helped us more. The campsite is lovely and the facilities are brilliant too. The restaurant and bar are lovely and the food is brilliant. The campsite provide dryers and a drying room which was great to ensure our kit was dry as we headed on the next day. Would definitely recommend staying here as this was our favourite campsite whilst doing the WHW.

I was camping here for the weekend with a friend but felt the food deserves its own review.
They have an extensive menu including a great choice for vegetarians which I am. I had the most delicious vegetarian curry. So tasty and p!entry of it. I was really surprised how good it was bearing in mind it was a pub/restaurant on a campsite.
The food was so good we decided to eat there again the next evening. I had a delicious vegetarian pasta with garlic bread. Again, very tasty and decent portions.
Regrettably go out of their way here.

Granted, are you really going to give 5 buns for a sandwich? Yes this time. At the end of our hike on the West Highland Way, we come to this simple restaurant and order two sandwiches.
Soooo good! Even a sandwich can be spoiled or made extra tasty; this kitchen really succeeded in doing that. If the rest is also made with so much love, we will eat there again!

We didn’t stay here, but my friend and I stopped for dinner while walking the West Highland Way. We both ordered pasta with garlic bread. When it arrived the garlic bread had been substituted for toasted dry white bread. When we enquired after this, it transpired that they had run out of garlic bread. When we pointed out that dry toast wasn’t really a substitute, they did bring us some chips instead which after a day of walk g was satisfactory. We laughed about it more than being particularly angry, it just seemed an odd decision to make! The pasta was average - nothing special, but filled a hole after a day on the way.

Absolutely fantastic visit! Bein Glas is a a favourite with us all!
I visited last night with my fiancé , sister and husband and wee Bonnie ( Ann and Gordon’s cute poochon) so dog friendly too. We stayed in the cabins and were very comfortable as usual . It’s a family run place and June and Timmy make everyone feel welcome! I had a curry and it was delicious as were John’s Fish and Chips and the others had macaroni and cheese and a burger which they rated highly!
Weather was great and we enjoyed the beer garden. Very relaxing visit and I look forward to many more in the future!

We spent one night in one of their lodge rooms and found it to be very comfortable, clean, warm and cosy. The service was fabulous, the food even more so and everything was very reasonably priced. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Glad to find out we don't need to be booked in to camp to use their bar/restaurant in future when we are passing so we will definitely be back. With live music at the weekends and cheap overnight camping it will likely be on our list of good weekends away.

I visited Beinglas campsite Bar and Restaurant in late July 2023. A few of my friends and I stayed at the campsite as one of our stops along the West Highland Way. We all had pizzas, they were nothing particularly special however, still fairly tasty. Service was good - our food came of quickly and staff were very friendly. In conclusion, Beinglas campsite Bar and Restaurant serves its purpose as a place to grab a decent bite to eat, stay warm and (most importantly) stay away from the midges!

Stayed here on the West Highland Way and it was a great choice. Right on the path and an attractive, well kempt siteThe camping pod was spacious and clean as a pin, the showers are immaculate and hot and the pub sells good beer and hearty food They also do an early breakfast which is a bonus if you plan to push on the 20 miles to Bridge of Orchy. The pods have a heater and are warm so you just need a light sleeping bag (or liner in summer months)

Menu looks good but management prioritise “regulars” over exhausted trekkers. Arguably a mismatch between the different types of guest they try to accommodate. They asked a visiting English hiker to leave whilst I was there in preference for a local group with a clearly aggressive dog.
Feels like a cheap cowboy bar with terriers.

Beinglas Campsite
Hi Andrew,
I am sorry you felt you had to put a public review out in order to gain a further explanation from us here at Beinglas however I feel that it is necessary for me to respond to you publicly so that others can have further understanding of the events that had transpired.
It was myself who had asked you to kindly leave the premises after an altercation had occurred between yourself and another dog owner, it is unclear how things had started but you became loud, aggressive and threatening towards the lady with her dog. We are dog friendly and therefore expect everyone to treat their own dogs and others with respect. Swearing, threatening or otherwise name calling cannot be tolerated by anyone onsite and subsequently you were asked to leave.
We do not take any joy in the actions we had to take but I stand by that decision in order to defuse an intense situation that was amplified by yourself. This scene had caused other concerned bystanders who witnessed your behavior to become angry towards you, so for the safety of our guests, staff and yourself the necessary actions were taken.
I hope that you can move on past this and perhaps see that the behavior that was displayed was not acceptable in a public space.
I do wish you and your dog all the very best for the rest of your journey and if you would like to speak further on the situation today then please contact me directly on manager@beinglascampsite.co.uk and I will happily find the time to discuss the matter in full privately.
All the best,
Anne-Marie

The service is this place is ridiculous.
The guy serving behind the bar could not have made me feel less welcome.
Plain rude and ignorant.
The burgers were also bland and plain.
I'd advise definitely going elsewhere.
