It is 200m from the beach, on a narrow street in the local neighborhood. The place is clean and the usual waiting time after ordering is aprox 1h - 1h 30min, as usual in Zanzibar - however you can pre order via Whatsup. We had the veggie curry with potatoes and grilled calamari with soffran rice. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious - the food is way better than on the hotel restaurants. We even got free dessert: fried bananas with chocolate sauce. Yummy! The price is very decent, we had two mains and two fresh juices for 40000 shillings (aprox 20 dollars).

Absolutely amazing and we are so happy that we read the reviews and ended up trying Fadhil's restaurant. We took the advice from some of the other posters and asked them to set up a table on the beach for us to eat. The food was delicious and service was very friendly. Fadhil even came out to serve the main dishes himself and made sure that everything was according to our satisfaction. Highly recommended place to try some great local cooking!

Wow! What an amazing experience! This was everything we were looking for during our stay in Zanzibar. Good food, culture experience & reasonable prices! After reading so many reviews about this place, I knew exactly what I was in for prior to the visit. A tiny road that felt like it was leading us nowhere, then when we arrived to a small local place, seats in the sand and a warm welcoming from the family run business. I loved every moment we spent here, the menu came on a hand written note pad and the gent that took our orders was so calming and gentle and so happy to have us..nothing was too much trouble. The food was I N C R E D I B L E! We have been in Zanzi almost 2 weeks now and this was the best food we have eaten so far! we ate Calamari with chilli to start and then for mains we ordered 1/2 kg lobster & King Prawns... the portion size was a hit! Myself and my other half are all about the food, and we love a big portion so we were very pleased with this! I can’t explain how good the food is here, you just need to go! They also offered us a free dessert which was a pleasant suprise, we were so grateful for this. Overall I just wanted to write a review and plead you guys to go, and try their amazing food, and take in the wonderful local culture! I would happily dine at these sort of restaurants every night than get ripped off at the big chain hotels here. I don’t usually write reviews but I want these guys to get all the support they possibly can! Thank you Fadhil!!

We had our last lunch in Zanzibar at Fadhil’s place and it was the best by far!! We ordered the lobster and grilled calamari which were delicious! It was prepared with various spices. Actually it is the only restaurant we tried on the island that used local spices, when Zanzibar is famous for being a spice island. The food presentation was really nice. We had a desert for free! Fadhil is very friendly. Finally the price is way cheaper compared to other restaurants but the taste of the food is 100 time better, e.g compared to the Rock restaurant which is overrated and over expensive.

When we travel, we always love to eat at local eateries and support them. One of them is Fadhil Restaurant. a little eatery serving wonderful meals. The cinnamon chicken and curry octopus were delicious. The cost is reasonable. You have to wait a little bit less for food at Fadil than at other Jambijani eateries. I suggest

Fantastic seafood and wonderful chef who prides himself on his product. A must when at Jambiani. All cooked from scratch so expect a 30-45 min wait. But worth it. Don’t be put off by the grim passage beach entrance. His restaurant is lovely, simple yet but we’ll thought out. We really enjoyed it.

Staff not polite, toilet disgusting, food not delicious, lobster small and dry, octopus hard as a shoe not eatable at all. Even we returned octopus dish almost untouched we were not offered any compensation or anything. No beer or vine. Do not recommended.

We came here as I saw it highly recommended on Trip Advisor and we were looking for cheaper restaurants. If you are staying in Jambiani do not eat anywhere else. This restaurant is situated behind The Loop, don’t be put off by how it looks, the food is incredible. We are 2 adults and 2 teens. My son ordered pizza, my daughter ordered Rock Lobster, husband had chicken curry and I (as a vegetarian) ordered African vegetable stew with peanut sauce and rice. All of our food was delicious and only took about 30 mins to arrive. After we’d eaten they gave us free desert of cooked banana with chocolate sauce! All of this for 67,500 Tsh(£27) !!! Don’t be put off by the sand on the floor, this place is brilliant.

We ate here several times while in Jambiani and each time the food was excellent - pizzas, peanut crusted fish, Swahili octopus in coconut sauce were all made fresh to order and perfectly seasoned. Restaurant is run by a local family located off the main beach strip and in the village, and service is very warm and kind. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an amazing meal in Jambiani.

I love seafood and the name of the game here is grilled seafood. The location is kinda spotty, tucked away about 300m from the beach accessed only by a narrow path. But don't let that deter you. Its not fine dining but Mama and hubby will prepare that seafood that will just hook you in. Get the seafood platter that is good for 2 and you'll now what I'm talking about. Food so good we ate here 3 nights in a row during our stay in Jambiani.

I am so glad we came here after reading reviews. It is a glorious wee place just behind some beach restaurants, in the alleys of Jambiani village. The sand floors are so comfy and men are so welcoming that we felt at home. Food is delicious and in very good portion sizes. Being vegetarian was fine as there are options on the hand written menu for me. The ginger and lemon drink is also great - zingy and refreshing. If we had stayed in Jambiani longer we would have eaten there again.

Since this was the number 1 rated restaurant in Jambiani we decided to try it and we were not disappointed. Don't let the walk through the alley deter you. It is just off the beach and some of the freshest best food we've had so far. It does take a little while but it is well worth the wait. I had the slipper lobster which was amazing. My 11y old son had the peanut crusted fish, also delicious. Prices were very affordable. Owner was very personable and welcoming. It is definitely a local experience. We plan to return before we leave. Great overall dining experience!

Fadhil's restaurant was one of the most amazing seafood experience of our lives. Especially since we are originally from an island, our bar when it comes to seafood is pretty high. However Fadhil surpassed it by far, with excellent dishes with local flair. The small restaurant is located in a small alley in the village, rather than the beachfront, and you will not find many signs advertising it, since the food is so good it needs neither promotion nor a scenic view. We tried lobster, cigole, kingfish, crab, octopus, as well as squid in coconut sauce, and they were all excellent. Service was discreet and simple, and the prices were extremely fair for the quality of the food. We tried several seafood restaurants in Jambiani, and while several were quite good, they were all touristy in one way or another. This is original, feels local, and respects its guests. We recommend visiting for dinner rather than lunch, since at lunch time it can get quite hot (although they provide electric fans).

According to one of the staff in our hotel the chef here is award winning and got fed up working for hotels so works for himself in this stripped back simple restaurant. Don’t let the decor or hand written menu put you off! The food is excellent, probably the best I’ve had in Tanzania, and the staff are very friendly. We had the tandoori chicken and it was perfectly cooked and spiced.
