Food was Ok.

Food was quite generous and nice. The patron (old dude behind the counter, looked like he didn't want to be there) wasn't rude but looked pissed off with life, made me think I wont come back. Piped music was too loud , we had to raise our voices to converse.

The cafe, situated in the Waitamo Caves precincts, is ideal for a quick coffee and snacks while waiting for the visit to the Caves.

Renamed Tomo Bar and Grill

our family of 4 adults and one 3 year old went for dinner here and we were quite happy with the food. My son had a pizza which was quite big that he couldn't finish it and the rest of us had the Roast beef ($15). it was a decent size with vegetables and roasted potato, sweet potato and pumpkin with a mustard hollandaise sauce. Staff were very friendly and nice.

We popped in for lunch and was surprised with a great menu- huge burgers and delicious pizzas! Plenty of cabinet choices and a super friendly publican! Followed up with cake and great coffee!

We had good bar food in a lively place that was welcoming for small kids, which we appreciated. Recommended: Try some local brews.

We went for the atmosphere and were not disappointed. It was busy with a rugby game on the tv and lively discussions. The service was excellent and we enjoyed the seafood platter.

Very nice friendly local bar with good food and excellent chef. I had the rump and chips and was very nice. Not too crowded and good background music.

We stopped in at The Tomo for dinner after a day if visiting the local cave attractions. Our accommodation was within walking distance which made life easier for us. We found the atmosthere was relaxed and family friendly, and the menu had a decent variety to select from. It was a busy night and there seemed to only be two staff on (one in the kitchen and one on the bar), but we weren't concerned despite a bit of a delay with our meals. All in all - yummy food, decently priced, great location if staying in Waitomo

Called the Tomo Bar & Eatery Now 10/10

Now called the Tomo Bar & Eatery Visiting from Sydney Australia, this place is definitely the go to place for food when staying in Waitomo , they have a great range of food , I had a roast for $12 which was lovely and my partner had the Fish & Chips $20 both meals were amazing , fresh, filling, quick to come out and the customer service was fantastic!!! They have an awesome range of food including burgers and pizza doing both eat in and take away. They also had live music start at 8pm as we were there on a Friday night.the atmosphere is great as there are a mix of tourists and locals.a must do in Waitomo even if it’s just for a drink!!!

Great steak!

We had some really good steaks. Warm friendly environment with good food. Good wine and beer selection. Only one person serving so he can get a bit busy but well worth going to.

Cozy sports bar with good food.

First, the name has changed to Tomo's. It's a warm, cheery place with several big screen TVs tuned to sports. It was a cold, rainy evening and a wood-burning stove took the chill off the room. Food is ordered at the counter and contrary to some other reviewers, I found service to be excellent. I arrived right behind a group of about a dozen people, but my order was taken quickly and my seafood basket arrived to my table a short while later. The contents of the basket were hot and tasty. The staff were friendly. The clientele appear to be a mix of tourists and locals.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Curly’s bar and what a great experience. My partner and I had the roast meal each and it was fabulous. Beautifully steamed veges with a mustard sauce, beef was good and the whole dish was beautifully presented and tasty. Great value for money. Moving onto dessert I had the rhubarb and apple crumble and my partner had the pecan pie. Both really yummy. Well done to the kitchen staff for creating great food. The lady behind the bar could have smiled on occasion and looked as if she was happy in her work if I am honest, but the food totally saved the day and made it a very enjoyable evening.
