This is the best restaurant we have tried so far in Zanzibar. The servings are very generous, the food is tasty and it is obvious that everything is homemade. It is indicated in the menu when something takes time to prepare, so you know that you’ll have to wait. The specialities are Italian, European and local. We stayed at the hotel 5 nights, so we had the time to try a lot of meals they propose (breakfast included), and none disappointed us. The staff is also super nice. Definitely recommend !!!

My wife and I have been fortunate enough to eat at the Opera Hotel restaurant on several occasions during our stay in Zanzibar, without exception every meal has been fantastic. The quality of their ingredients is amazing as is their fresh homemade bread and pasta. The portion sizes are extremely generous and every meal has been outstanding. The service is also very good unlike many other local restaurants. We have had several options from the menu and have been really pleased with every meal. The prices are very reasonable and there really is no comparison to other restaurants that we visited, the owners must be commended for running what we believe is the best restaurant on the island. Delicious restaurant. Owner and staff very courteous and attentive. We ate very well, highly recommended hummus, pasta with crab and roasted octopus. My son also had tuna tartare and it was delicious. Stra also recommended for the good cost quality ratio. You can breathe the air of Italy

If you are in Zanzibar, you absolutely must visit the Opera Hotel restaurant! The kitchen offers a selection of well-balanced, tasty and impeccably presented dishes. Italian culinary culture blends harmoniously with the local one, creating unique and surprising flavours. I would also like to compliment the organization and management of the staff, who are always available to accommodate your requests. As an Italian, I can say that I ate better here than in many restaurants in Italy! Absolutely must try!

I had the opportunity to try this restaurant through a friend's recommendation and couldn't find a better place! Very friendly staff and very attentive to the needs of the customer. Very good and quality food, you can see that there is a lovingly and creatively designed menu behind it. Thank you Giselda for everything! I would come back again! ❤️

Best place on the island

My partner and I have been staying at the hotel a number of days, and have eaten breakfast lunch and dinner here. We've ordered the mixed seafood grill, brucetta, crab Coconut soup and panzarote. The food has been 5*, the cocktails even better. We've tried other places but nothing hits the mark. The two waitresses who have served us has been fantastic, exceptionally friendly and hardworking. We will carry on eating here during our stay

We had dinner at the Opera during our stay at another property in Kendwa (Riu Palace). Delicious food and top welcome! Recommendation especially Lobster Spaghetti (perfect cooking) and Tuna fish crusted really excellent! Excellent ingredients, lots of passion and attention to detail: without a doubt it was the best dinner of our stay in Zanzibar. We met both the owner and her daughter who in addition to telling us about their wonderful experience, they gave us great advice on excursions to do. The property is very nice and cozy! Recommended stop for both food and stay

Best Restaurant in Nungwi!!

After trying several places between Nungwi and Kendwa, I can only say that this restaurant tops them all. Every dish is a masterpiece and their menu offers a variety of delicious choices, including both local and international cuisine. Every dish is perfectly balanced and I would also say very plentiful. Icing on the cake is definitely kindness and professionalism of all the staff,it is a place where you feel immediately at home, even when you are on vacation. I recommend it to anyone, you will surely come out satisfied and happy ❤️

A holiday not to forget

Stopped by a quiet lovely hotel on my walk to the beach. As much as I loved my trip to Zanzibar I had never found quite a place and wished I had found it earlier. The restaurant has a perfect selection of international Swahili and international cuisine. And it meets every standard. I hardly ever leave a review but the quality of the food was exceptional and affordable. I spent the rest of the holiday eating all I could before it was too late haha !

I would recommend this amazing restaurant 1000 times.food is great,we came multiple times as everything was delicious. We tried both local and italian food and every dish is cooked with love for the guests and passion for african roots. Atmosphere is familiar and friendly. Make sure to ask owners what to order and trust them :D try urojo and pilau rice, but also bruschette,pizza,tartare,calamari,octopus! Would give more Than 5 if possibile :)

we stayed a week in this fantastic location we had the opportunity to try different dishes from local ones to Italian cuisine and I must say that they were always exceptional Absolutely try the linguine with crab The quality of the products and typically Italian attention make this restaurant an experience not to be missed... highly recommended

Exceptional !!! We stayed in this wonderful hotel for eight days, trying many of their delicacies starting from the vast breakfast and then finishing with dinner. Here you can taste excellent local dishes and Italian cuisine, such as pasta, panzerotti, pizza and much more. Closing my eyes it felt like I was in Italy. Excellent quality/quantity/price ratio. Super recommended!!!

We stayed at the Opera Hotel for 8 nights and we ate morning, noon and evening in the restaurant. The food was excellent, full of flavor, in short, incredible. Hearty and fresh breakfast The menu is varied with very reasonable prices. The staff were always smiling and friendly. I really enjoyed it and I recommend you eat there! THANKS.

The restaurant and the service it’s amazing!! The food it’s really fresh and we tried the smoothie bowls, it’s literally the best one I tried so far. The combination of flavors, presentation and spices: it is worth trying and I highly recommend this hotel and restaurant.
