Enjoyed it so Much we went Twice

We went for the craft tacos and enjoyed our meals so much we went back again. This is a food truck with a small eating area of picnic tables and several other food trucks right by this one. If you dont like tacos there are several other choices. It is open to the elements so maybe a to go order if its raining but we had nice weather and ate at the tables both times. They will customize your taco or burrito to whatever you want. I had the chicken burrito and really liked it. Watch out for the pesky little sparrows as I saw several of them swipe a bite while a person had their burrito in their mouth. They are quite pesky!

Thanks for your review. Sparrows are also a fan of burritos it would seem ! Problem is in the summer the guests feed them so they do become quite a problem. happy to customise any burrito and taco, we also offer online ordering. Thanks for visiting our food truck in Wanaka see you again soon

Never disappoints

If you love Mexican food then this is the place for you in Wanaka. Great burritos full of flavour. You choose how much heat you want. Tip, only order the large burrito if you have a seriously healthy appetite, they are huge.

Just great food, always surpasses my expectations

I’ve now had many burritos from here, it’s always been great food and a great feed for the price too. Wanaka is always a bit hit and miss with favourite places to eat but this is always on top for me. Their staff have always been really good too, even when really busy they seem to be enjoying their work and polite and fun.

Could make some improvement.

The staff is amazing and I would love to put a better mark but I must admit that the Burrito isn't really delicate, all ingredients are mixed together and it become more like a puree inside. The wrap has nothing exceptional. The tacos shell is breaking up, not holding together and quite floury in mouth, however the filling in the tacos were really yummy. Quite random cuisine. In my opinion, if there is more energy put on the recipe of the base itself the tacos could become real yummy.

Thanks for the feedback. The burrito isn't meant to be delicate, it is essentially a meal in a wrap. Unfortunately not for you! However with regards to the corn tortillas we have had some issues with them breaking as you mentioned. We don't have the capacity to make them ourself. They have improved with a change in brand. Thank you again for the feedback we always appreciate it so we can improve.

Food was amazing

My partner and I got a large chicken burrito each they were so delicious and very fulling! We did not need to eat for the rest of the day as we were super satisfied. However the lady at the front looked at me like I was dumb when I asked for level 8 I love Carolina reapers and have a condition where my Taste buds don’t work like normal people I wanted level 8 so I can taste the spice! However she stared like I was a fruit loop then I said level seven and she still gave me the same look it was really rude to be honest. I understand she may have thought I wouldn’t enjoy my burrito if it was too spicy but I just was left feeling stupid. This does not take away that the owners obviously love what they do and have put together a awesome stop with top notch food and speedy service I just would have liked to have level 8 as level 7 was a little too mild for me.

Hi there and thanks for the feedback. I'd just like to apologise that you felt like that when trying to order the level 8. We strive to provide great customer service and thats always the feedback we get! I do have to say this is a hard situation. If we don't warn people and really ensure they can handle it like this we get complaints about it being too hot which happened recently. Again sorry that you were made to feel like that, our staff don't think you're dumb they just really want to make sure you don't regret it. We'll do our best to train staff and ensure we deal with these situations better. I appreciate your feedback!

Delicious Burritos!

I had the large Crispy Monkfish Burrito, and could have easily gotten away with the small burrito. They are huge! Others in our party had the Peek and/or Chicken Burritos, as well as a mixed Tacos, and everybody was really happy with their options and portions. Legit the best burrito!

Legit the best burrito we’ve had in New Zealand! I’m vegan and stunned to find so many things on the menu. I ordered a large burrito with both the jackfruit and mushroom fillings (hope you’re hungry!) The cashew cream and beans were simple but effective. My partner had pork and beef and said it was outstanding. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and discussed the hot sauce options, even letting us try before we committed to a 7. The sauce was spicy but delicious and made on site.

Nice and juicy

I enjoyed the flavours a lot frrom the first bite, the juiciness really stood out, and the creme with the hot sauce was very good with the pork, beans and rice. Couple of suggestions though, I personally would have liked an option for a bit more freshness to it such as the option for pineapple (did ask and offer to pay extra but apparently it only comes on the tacos?) or some sour cream just to break up and balance some of the rich (but delicious) flavours. Also there were a couple of hard un-pulled dry bits of pork in the pulled pork one, but they were easy enough to pick out with still heaps of meat left to enjoy. Besides these slight changes I would suggest I still thoroughly enjoyed it for what it was and would come back and would likely return.

Best Burrito I've had in NZ

The Burritos here are incredible. It doesn't matter which you have, or what level of spice you ask for, you will get a tightly packed feast of a Burrito. Absolutely head here for a tasty and filling treat after a day out enjoying the wonders of the local area.

Good value basics.

Solid burritos that are good value eats by Wanaka's resort pricing standards. Very much a take-out operation and the pleasant outdoor seating means it's a fine-weather exercise if you don't have somewhere to go. Can also get very busy, so order on line if you can.

Delicious burritos, with many variation available.

There were 4 of us and we ordered our food online, the web page was great and there were lots of choices you can make to your burrito, but instead of adding things you could choose things you didn't want, also 10 choices on the hotness of the sauce. We got an accurate time to pick up and the burritos were delicious. There is an area where the food truck is situated that provides seating and tables.

Great food, cheerful service

Their food was excellent. It was very convient and avoided the long waits at lakeside restaurants. We walked over from our hotel, ordered then returned later when they told us it would be ready. Don’t miss this great food and nic3 and convenient location.

Love the vegetarian options! Probably the spiciest food we have had in NZ ❤️‍🔥 So awesome. Cute location, great vibes, and usually quick service for quality. Great staff. Stopped in on three separate trips because of “a craving.” You’ve been warned.

Casual tasty feed

Great place to have a casual bite/meal. You order on a big iPad, which is easy to use. Order form give you the length of waiting time. But we went at a busy time and food came out quickly. Food is fresh and very tasty. Can recommend for casual feed.
