The food at gusto was very good. We are use to high quality chinese cuisine from auckland, gusto really delivered on quality and price. The sweet and sour pork was especially good. Meaty chunks of deep fried pork in a delicious sauce. Seasonal vege was basic.( cabbage,broccoli,carrots)They didn't have gai larn vege , probably too hard to get in the sth is. My husband wanted beans in his vege dish and was told it would cost an extra $30. I recommend this takeaway service.

We were passing through Wanaka looking for some great food. We found that at Gusto. Such lovely and accommodating hosts. Brilliant friendly service. Best Chinese food we have had in a long time. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back when we get the chance to return to Wanaka. We had Mussels with black bean sauce, prawn wonton soup, pork belly, Asian basket, crumbed King prawns, pork and shrimp dim sims. Thanks for having us 😊

We were welcomed with a smile and shown to a table straight away and were able to sit outside with out two little dogs. Great food including the authentic home made deep fried spring rolls. Something hard to find in NZ.

I was with my son and his family for dinner tonight and the service was horrendous. We were there over an hour and a quarter before they served us and we were with 3 little children. They also served my son soup with sea food which we specifically told them he is highly allergic to.
I definitely would not recommend this restaurant.

Back again after a year.
We lived the beef in black pepper that we just had to order it again.
The staff are warm and as friendly as ever - a great place with great food and great prices.

We opted for a takeaway and it’s as good a Chinese meal as we’ve had in NZ. Good sized portions and flavoursome. Can recommend the lemon chicken (huge amount of chicken), the sweet & sour, the Singapore noodles or the chicken fried rice, all very tasty!

We were staying at the Lakeside Apartments next door for 9 nights at the end of Dec 2019. Our first night my husband wanted to go but I wanted to go somewhere for wedges. Had we gone that first night we could have had more meals there. Instead we tried it on our 7th night, 8th night and our final 9th night. OMG!!!! We have never had such delicious Chinese food.
It wasn't cheap but well worth it. We gave away the steaks we had bought so we could have it again on our last night. We had the S&S pork, S&S chicken, chicken fried rice. My husband always went over for our take out. He said the the dishes coming out the kitchen for the in restaurant dining were huge.
Highly recommend this for dinner. My mouth is watering writing about it.

Very nice. Blue cod was great, I ate red-simmered, and the brisket and mutton were also great and tasty. Ma Ma Ma Tofu was very down, served quickly and the boss was very enthusiastic. Dry-fried Ox River is also delicious. The atmosphere in the store is also good, the seat is a little cramped, it's a little hard to sit here, can only say small questions, the hotel is delicious on it

We walked in at 2:55pm. We asked the owner what time he closed for lunch and he indicated 3:00. We were about to walk out but he waved his hands and told us no problem as he ushered us to a table. What followed was a legitimately authentic south china meal. I lived in Guangdong for 14 years and I will say this food was very solid. We had the Hong Xiao Rou, the Spicy beef and Sichuan fish. My daughter had beef noodles. Everything had the right spices and flavor. It was a great afternoon stop after a long drive.
Coincidentally, while I didn't partake, I noticed they had a large selection of wine from a vineyard called Valli. If you are there and having dinner, I highly recommend this wine to pair with Chinese food. Not sure why it is featured but a really nice selction is available.

Ordered tom Yan with no sea food since I am very allergic. Got the dish with loads of sea food in it..
We waited for food to arrive over 1.5 hours.. kids we're so hungry we had to ask for plain rice.
Soap came with main dishes.

We were after some Chinese food at Wanaka and decided to try Gusto. We had Chicken Satay and Black Bean Beef. The Black Bean was the best I have ever had. The Chicken was very nice too, not stay from a supermarket bottle! Due to staff shortages it was quite a wait though.

We looked up this place on Google and liked the rating. We had a wonderful experience with 3 toddlers &1 baby. Lin and Ling were wonderful hostess & the food was beyond amazing. We are vegetarian & Ling helped us to select our food. Would definately recommend this place. We are eating there again before we depart.

A delightful Chinese Restaurant….the food was delicious,atmosphere was lovely.
It was so popular the tables turned over a number of times.Service was quick and friendly .
