We stayed the night here as the start of our South Island trip and Rail Trail experience. Definitely a bucket list experience. Loved every minute.

Mum and I called into the hotel this morning on our way through. Another tick off our South Island Adventures list. We enjoyed freshly cooked cheese scones and great coffee. It was cold and wet outside but the complete opposite inside the hotel. The fires...were blazing and it was so lovely and warm it was difficult to leave. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Don't forget to visit the old school house as there are some interesting goodies. Also take time to view the stunning grounds of the hotel.More

Have come here twice before and had really tasty meals. Staff are knowledgeable on gluten free so I feel safe eating here. Had the nachos and partner had fish and chips the chicken bites and Guinness which he loved.

Great food, portion sizes amazing. For what we paid was expecting Auckland portions. At least twice the size. Well recommended

Huge carpark opposite gives you the chance to park up and take photos and walk around which was really nice. Grand old pub.

Probably not up there with Taj Mahal or Angkor Wat but a NZ Icon and a must visit for any true blooded kiwi. Got to get a picture out the front with a pint of speights. It started as a 5 because of what it...was but the service and food cemented it as a five. My wife and I shared a Nachos would have been enough for 3 people, my wife is a fan of Nachos and has the regularly she rated these among the best she has ever had. Stop for Lunch at Cadrona Hotel.More

This pub is so fun... beautiful beer garden, fascinating history, really tasty pub food. It was awesome to see as many locals as tourists stopping in here for a beer and lunch (that’s how you know it’s good value). Dog friendly, and well worth stopping...in for more than just an Instagram photo! :)More

This hotel is a wee gem in the middle of nowhere - right from arriving to an open fire inside, one outside as well, friendly service, rustic building and good-priced drinks. There is a shop to buy local stuff and a nice area to sit...in outside. A classic building.More

Hello, The restaurant is definitely open until 8:30pm in the evening, later if the restaurant is busy. I you feel that you may be late, it would be best to give us a call to let us know you are coming. Kind regards
