We were on our rented e-bikes (LandEscape) cycling around Lake Hawea and were looking for a pit stop. A passing mountain biker recommended Mo's to us. Mo's is a caravan cafe set up at the Allied petrol station on State Highway 6 at Lake Hawea....Great coffee and sourdough toasties. Vegetarian options available. It was recommended to us and we can recommend it to you.More
Lake Hāwea- beside the petrol station and you to look out for it! The food is worth samplying especially the European style meatloaf. Go for more than coffee. The changing menu each day offers a special twist to one's diet.
The friendly service and hospitality...draws in the regulars- locals and travellers alike.More
We were cycling the Hawea River Trail today and came across this amazing little coffee stand next to the Petrol filling station in Hawea. Best coffee we've had in the 3 weeks we have been touring in NZ. Hubby really enjoyed good scone, flat white...and smoothie. My gluten free raw carrot cake & Americano was the biz.More
Me and a friend wanted good coffee and food and him being a bit of a foodie come coffee man decided he wanted to try Mo’s Cafe at Lake Hawea. He said he was glad we had!
From this cool little caravan we were greeted...with a smile and friendly chat. I don’t think there’s a choice on that one, you just get it anyway.
We finally decided on 2 different toasty from the menu, a home made meatloaf and a veg toasty with its own home made paddy and also for good measure we thought we better try a cheese scone. Well what a surprise! The word good, wholesome and Natural tasting is how Ben describe it. I just thought it was bloody awesome! The coffee’s are definitely a must do and the Kias painted on the wall look pretty cool as well!
Mo’s Cafe, just do it!More
