Food was very good, but why not ditch the lacto and ovo to make those dishes full on vegan? It is very easy and tasty to do now a days. You would make vegans happier and the lacto ovo crowd would still love it. Plus,...it would be healthier for all. I would love to see more WFPB dishes🙂More

Given that the restaurant operates on a different model to most restaurants the staff should be ready to answer questions about how the place works. They weren't. Food was average. Won't be returning and don't recommend.

They serve barracks food for 20 dollars. This is not a Mediterranean restaurant. Check the menu first. For $20 you get to choose a meat that doesn't taste good, and four sides that sloshes into each other. It's not worth the price. I was deceived...because of the high tripadvisor rating. Get real people, you're not helping others by giving false rating. Please be honest even if it hurts the establishment. In the end they'll try and improve and we will all benefit from it.More

Really tasty, interesting delicious food. Only gripe is with one meat choice I didn’t get to taste anything else. Nice beer, nice setting. Going back today.

I was expecting a traditional Mediterrenean restaurant. Instead, Big Fig turned out to be a fast food type joint with a very limited selection. And the place only served organic drinks. I won't be coning back.

This is our 2nd time at big fig and it again just blew our minds. Our dish which we shared was the braised beef cheek and lamb meatballs marinated in lemon, herb yoghurt sauce.. wow! I had the kumura gratin which tbh I could’ve just...eaten on it’s own. It’s one of the places, reasonably rare now, that you are eat at and come away feeling healthy. I also recommend the local kombucha on tap. The staff are attentive and friendly and seem to get along with each other (another thing that’s becoming rare!!)More

Big fog is a unique cafe, you chose 3+ salads or dishes and one meat dish. The beef check and roast potato was nice but the other dishes and salads were plain. Quite average

We went to Big Fig for dinner on Labour Day and it was outstanding. The selection of meat and salads was epic - it all looked fresh and delicious. I had the beef and a range of salads and every component of the dish was...insanely delicious and flavoursome - but also healthy and wholesome! Will def be back next time I’m in Wanaka.More

Amazing selection of delicious dishes all served up in an instant and at brilliant value. Casual dining with great outdoor spots also if the weather is nice.
