We came here after reading the TripAdvisor reviews and were very impressed by the food. There is a limited choice of savoury items but certainly enough for us. We had a chicken pie and a steak pie together with an amazing beetroot said which had plenty of other great ingredients. The coffee was excellent and the choice of sweet offerings... More

Great cabinet food and a very interesting and creative menu. Probably the best cafe style cuisine in the area. Staff are friendly and service is excellent. Currently our favourite spot in Wanaka/Albertown for daytime eating. Still a bit of a secret spot but already building a great reputation locally. Well located for bikers returning to Wanaka from the Deans Bank... More

our second visit to Double Black decided to give it another try. The music is uncomfortably loud. The choice of sweet treats looks good although we didn't try. The choice of savoury food was quite limited and repetitive, we all selected something with Pumpkin in it two different dishes. If you closed your eyes you would not have had a... More

Our favourite cafe in Wanaka, off the beaten track in Albertown. Great coffee and good variety of food all prepared on the premises. It's truly a locals place, and a great place to recover after a bike ride.

This is the first cafe in 2 weeks of travelling NZ's South Island that has wifi that works! So I'm writing this as I sit here enjoying the bliss of a wonderful repast. On our cycle from Wanaka to Arthur Town and back again we stopped here for lunch. Great veggie and gf options. Everything looked scrumptious and healthy. Staff... More

The locals would much prefer that this place be kept a secret as it's not very big, especially when you can't sit outside, and the coffee and food are excellent. The place is very child and dog friendly, with a wonderful sandpit in the corner. And, a real plus, parking and access is easy. Well worth a try and see... More

A must visit! Service is great, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere for everyone. The little play area outside means adults can enjoy their experience knowing the kids are engaged.

We visited this cafe for the first time and were very impressed. Loved the setup and the food and drinks were lovely. The service was great even though they were very busy. It is so good to have a great place to be able to go in Albert Town without having to fight the crowds in Wanaka 😊

Forgotten coffee, staff not friendly or helpful. Food arrived at different times, had to ask where remainder of food was. Had to clear table initially, and cafe had about 5 tables with people occupying, so being busy was no excuse. Won't be returning and don't recommend.
