Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was surprised to find such a busy pub in a small town. There was a good choice of beer and it was a fun atmosphere. Staff were really friendly although seemed a little overwhelmed by how busy it was.. I ordered a pizza which...was fine but a bit soggy.. Great place if you looking for a few drinks.More

Fantastic spot - food was amazing. We had the steak, it was cooked perfectly. Chicken burger was great and kids meals were perfect sizes. Highly recommend.

We decided to eat eat here tonight- what a great decision that was! The food was awesome- hubby’s steak was the best he has had for a long time- and the presentation was great too! I had a chicken quesadilla that was massive! We were...able to bring the rest home for tomorrow’s lunch! The staff were very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was great! Prices were reasonable, especially seeing how large the serves were! I would go back again!More

We last visited two years ago and LOVED & raved about our meal. When we planned to be back in Twizel, this was a must do. But we were a little disappointed this time. If it was my first time there, i'd still say great...meal. The food was very good. Lamb was still cooked to perfection. It just wasn't amazing and rave worthy this time. Service was quick and pleasant. Waa probably most annoyed about the 15% public holiday surcharge. I don't mind a surcharge if it's made clear, but I feel 15% was a little over the top. I also think we should've been advised of the charge when we booked. I'd even checked their facebook page beforehand. There was a post to say they were open, but there no mention of surcharge. To be fair, I didn't ask, but since I'd booked, I think it's fair they let you know then.More

Probably the best ever lamb rump I've had in a restaurant - couldn't fault it. Combined with an excellent range of brews on tap, this place is hard to beat.

Busy time, appeared chaotic on arrival. Lovely waitress but we were sitting waiting to order for a period of 10 minutes. Friendly staff. Meat came out rare, wasn't a problem for staff to take backfor further cooking. Meal came out quickly When making payment, people...standing waiting appeared unorganized. Not sure how they could tell who had already paid for meals.More

Found the Ministry of Works on Trip Advisor and thought I’d give it a try as it had vegetarian options. It was crowded with no free tables but the waitress asked if I was ok sitting at the bar rather than turning me away. The...staff were very busy but she brought a menu and bottle of water almost as soon as I sat down. Took my order (vegetarian pizza) within a few minutes. Pizza (vegetarian) was delicious; the best I’ve had. Perfectly cooked thin crust base with wonderful toppings. Highly recommendedMore
