Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We wanted a coffee & light snack break on way to Lake Tikapo from Queenstown, since the journey was long. The eating options in that area were not many & we were a little apprehensive about the place but honestly were thoroughly impressed by the...experience. We founnd the rustic interiors of the cafe charming The stuff ordered was found nice but above all the small team of staff present were amazingly welcoming & provided excellent service that added to the cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend the place for a coffee & food break when passing this area.More

Stopped for lunch as we've been here before and liked it. Everything still just as good and staff are friendly and efficient. Food is good - had a good old steak & cheese pie and a lolly cake with a cup of tea - all...very good. Sat outside and weren't bothered by the wasps this time - must have been getting colder. Worth dropping in for refreshmentsMore

Just stopped here for coffee/tea mid-morning. Service was incredibly slow, we waited forever for a very simple order whilst the 2 grandchildren (5 & 2) became more and more fractious (understandably). We did revisit the next day for lunch (not many options in Twizel) and...the food was just ok. Not so crowded then so the food did come more quickly although all any of it needed was heating up.More

No question the food is good.Hearty soups, nice burgers & large fried brunches. Expect to be charged a fairly hefty tariff to match.

We stopped here for a light lunch and coffee. We were warmly welcomed and service was with a smile. My husband said he had THE best coffee he’s had in NZ and I enjoyed my hot chocolate. We both loved our snacks of gluten feee...cake and bacon and egg roll. Great little gift shop attached to cafe too. Highly recommend a stop here.More

Went here mainly for the mini golf advertised at $20 on their web site for the size of our party. No separate desk for this activity and the queue was long. Owner charged $30 and said rates had gone up. When questioned that she should...honour what they advertised she was quite rude. The course was fun with the kids enjoying it, but it wasn’t well maintained. In the U.K. you can report this sort of charge to trading standards, will check what the situation is here. We were going to have lunch here, but decided, with the attitude of the staff, that we would eat elsewhere. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.More

We had breakfast here on our A2O cycle tour. The customer service was outstanding, the food was delicious and, on a snowy morning, the fire was very cozy.

We popped in here for a drink and to feed and change our baby during a long drive. The drinks were great, with friendly service. The little shop is also nice with some great local NZ made gifts and products. One minor criticism would be...that there is a change table in the women’s but not be men’s bathroom which obviously isn’t ideal if you are a dad wanting to change your little one (either because you are on your own or just to give mum a break!)More
