Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

At one hand, I'm very glad that this place exists. Arriving too late for any restaurant in the village to cook or to be even open, this place was open and it was offering pizza as the only meals at that time. On the other...hand, the pizzas are not anyhow exceptional and I had a feeling that those were frozen pizzas. There was something like sugar syrup with mint on the top of pizza, which was not something I would go for again. Being a sport bar, the place is not fancy in any way and it also doesn't have any amazing atmosphere, but you can be relaxed there and play some billiard, or just watch something on one of a lot of available TVs.More

What an experience, as soon you walk through the door, to be greeted with a sour attitude. We were asked to sit down despite having a reservation and the table was ready. The younger staff were good however the older staff were snooty and had...an attitude. To be told that there was a 45 - 1.25 min wait for our food when the restaurant wasn't even busy was ridiculous. Once ordering our drinks it was a 38-minute wait to receive our drinks for the order to be wrong, wrong wine, was given a white wine when a red was requested. The rest of the Drinks were warm and they ran out of glasses hence the long wait. When food FINALLY arrived, the Ribs... what a disaster they call themselves a "smoke house" however the ribs were frozen in the middle... cold. These were certainly not smoked. We took them back and 1 min later they were brought back had been chucked in the microwave, to be honest they were disgusting anyway. The salads we a safe option. The waiter did apologies and tried his best, but the older ladies were nasty and horrible. It doesn't take much to be kind and nice to patrons but the sour look and how we were greeted was not acceptable for hospitality. We spent a significant amount that evening celebrating our engagement with the family, and it was ruined by the snarky front of house staff. Truely horrified. I would not recommend them to anyone! The whole experience was a joke!More

After looking at the menu at the door we waited at the door to be seated and the two ladies still didn’t acknowledge us, we then asked at the bar the young lad and he said if you just wait to be seated then one...of the middle aged ladies the rudely said if you read the sign and pointing to us if you wait here we will seat you, these guys are before you, which they came in after us. So we sat on the couch, then she came talked to us like we were children and then had a young lady taken us to our table. We then sat there for 25 minutes waiting to have our order taken! So we walked out! Meals are a on the pricey side but were prepared to pay.More

This place is a fabulous choice if you are looking for somewhere to dine. Great food, great service and reasonable prices. There is something for everyone. Tables are nicely spaced so you don’t feel that you are listening in on others. Great atmosphere too

This was a typical pub with pub-style meals. Hard to find places to eat in Twizel so this did the job. A bit of confusion about the next door restaurant, 65 and Dine, and whether or not this was open.

Went with a group of 13 just after New Years so our expectations were not high. However they provided meals and service that was well above anything we expected. Meals were genuinly of a top order and the staff and matrie de were on top...of thier game. Would we go there again? Absolutly. This is the BEST nigĥtime dinner spot between Tekapo and Queenstown.More

Big sports bar in Twizel. We were able to get in at short notice and there were tables available the whole evening. Reasonable menu. You order drinks at the bar and food at the table. The food took forever to arrive and the portions, although...fine for me (I don’t have a huge appetite), were proclaimed by the rest of our party. The ice cream dessert was appalling. Maybe an inch of ice cream covered with that appalling squirty cream and sprinkles. There are definitely better places to eat here but if you don’t have a reservation this is ok. Oh and it’s called 65 and Fine on the outside!More

We went for dinner tonight. The food was delicious but the service was absolutely disgusting. When seated we were informed that there would be a wait for food as only three chefs working. We accepted this however, no one came to serve us, bought us...a drinks menu or took our order for 35-40 minutes. I’m a very patient person but after 30 minutes I had to go to the bar to request service. The waitress I spoke to seemed surprised to find there were people at table 9 waiting to order a drink and meal. It took another 10 minutes until the waitress came to attend to us. The drinks then arrived about 10 minutes later and the meals came separately, one after 55 minutes and the second after an hour. As I said the food was delicious and would have been worth the wai had we not had to wait 35-40 minutes for any type of service. This failure I feel was the responsibility of the meet, greet and seat person. I would never eat there again. The couple on the table next to us were not as patient as us and went up to the bar after 10 minutes of being seated with no service. The only person to apologise was the poor waitress who sorted our bill and we hadn’t seen her all night. She was very understanding and apologetic and our service had nothing to do with her.More

I was blown away by this farcical tour de force of restaurant performance art. The cast never broke character during a bumbling display of ineptitude and hospitality gaffs. The maître d' is superbly scary and will have you question your well honed table manners for...years to come. Comedy gold. 11 out of 10 stars for this little cast of hilarity in the heart of the Mackenzie country.More

Just plan terrible! Staff behaved as if it was a busy night but restaurant only half full. We were not allowed to order from the bar so consequently service took forever. Meals basic and over priced.
