First Impression
We were warmly welcomed by all the staff at this new restaurant located at the Sofitel Resort, Denarau, Fiji. The deco and ambience of the restaurant is spectacular, and very Insta worthy.
Food
The staff are helpful with explaining the dishes if you are new to Vietnamese cuisine. Our waitress Sweyta had a great understanding of dietary requirements and promptly checked this with the chef regarding particular dishes. We were happy to hear halal meat is served here along with many other restaurants in Fiji now.
While we waited for our meal we received complimentary tea followed by a complimentary dumpling with sauce . It was a nice surprise and great start to our Vietnamese food experience.
The Beef Pho was delicious and authentic. It took us back to our holiday in vietnam. My mum had her first Pho and she loved it too. The pho was served with the condiments so you could adjust the spices to your liking and also add more greens as you wished which was perfect. Watching the beef broth getting poured at our table was a nice visual touch too. Well thought out and each step planned very well. We loved the attention to detail.
We also enjoyed the rice dish with beef which was delicious.
Kids menu
It would have been nice if there were Vietnamese food options on the kids menu. I didn’t want the kids to have burgers, Pasta or pizza again even though kids love them. My husband shared some Pho with my 9 year old and he loved it. It would be nice to have a kid friendly Vietnamese noodle and or rice dish on the kids menu too.
Accor members:
We were a party of 5 .
Three adults and 2 kids. We have 2 Accor membership cards . We booked 2 separate tables (Table 1 ;Two adults , Table 2 ; One adult and 2 kids) in order to receive 50% discount on one table and 25% on the 2nd table.
There is no discount on kids menus or on drinks .
Madam So is a refreshing dining experience and just what the palat needs amongst what is offered in Denarau.
I would highly recommend Madame So for a Vietnamese Restaurant Food Experience.

Authentic Vietnamese Flavors – A Must-Try!
We recently dined at “Madam So” in Fiji, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with beautiful Vietnamese décor that set the perfect mood for our meal.
For mains we had tempura prawns, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The batter was light and not greasy, making them an absolute delight. For our mains, we had the honey roast chicken and sticky rice. The chicken was tender, beautifully glazed, and packed with rich, sweet, and savory flavors. It paired perfectly with the sticky rice, which was soft, fragrant, and had just the right consistency.
Service was impeccable—staff (especially Sela) were attentive, friendly, and happy to recommend dishes. The portion sizes were generous, and the food arrived promptly, piping hot and beautifully presented.
Overall, this was one of the best Vietnamese dining experiences we’ve had. The balance of flavors and fresh ingredients truly stood out. If you’re looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine with exceptional service, “Madem So” is the place to go. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful dinner at Madame So. Attention to detail is phenomenal, waiters are very polite and accomodating. The food is incredible!! Chefs are Vietnamese and the food is a reflection of the authenticity. We enjoyed the fried Pork Belly Spring Rolls salad, pork and shrimp fried rice and the bok choy was the perfect side dish. Definitely recommend!

Last minute decision to try this. The day staff highly recommend reservation but on arrival and throughout the entire dinner, there was only 4 other tables occupied (less than a third?).
Staff service was fantastic with recommendations from the menu, attention to small detail, ensure your glass is always full and check to make sure things are okay.
Had the signature fresh spring rolls for entree ($40FJD). I was warned that the entrees are quite large, and indeed they were. Probably good to share between two. Too much for one. Nothing particularly outstanding.
For mains I had the "chef special signature seafood pancake" ($58FJD) that wasn't on the menu. Felt like it was a dish put together just to get rid of ingredients that's been sitting around for a while. Wasn't thought through at all and was incredibly difficult to eat. The "pancake" is a very thin and crispy water flour mix. Inside was filled with excess amounts of bean sprouts with small amounts of seafood and beef (can choose pork instead of beef). The prawn tails were still attached do unless you dissected the pancake be prepared to bite into a mouthful of shell. There was a sweet and sour sauce on the side with some pickled carrots and herbs. I suggest using a spoon to pour shall amounts of the sauce over the pancake as dipping is impossible. Due to how technically difficult it was to eat the large bunches of herbs on the side was completely abandoned (did not feel the urge to pick apart the leaves from the stems to add to an already difficult to eat meal).
Overall don't recommend the dishes I ordered. Will I come back again? Probably, as one bad experience isn't an accurate measure however my expectations (at least regarding the food) will be next to none.

This is a higher end restaurant at the Sofitel resort. We went as a family of 4 (3yo & 7yo). They offer the typical resort menu for kids which makes it more accessible….
Great cocktails to open and the summer spring rolls to start were the best we have ever had but the Royal Ribs were a bit of a deep fried let down (similar to takeaway version) whilst the fried rice dish was very good but $$$$.
Service was very attentive and nice touches including complimentary tea and amuse bouches. Kulaia was a top
table manager for us.
We had an issue where the kids’s steak and mash had a smear of mash covered in cauliflower, carrot and zucchini which was not a hit with the small one. They quickly brought a new bowl of mash which he devoured….
Overall a chilled family experience but a likely pricey without the Accor Plus card giving 25% off. We preferred Solis restaurant in the same property.

Based on reading the previous reviews I am under the impression it was a once-off bad night accident for the kitchen but I will write it as is. The staff are friendly, ambience is nice, we stayed at the Sofitel and put the kids in nanny care to have a nice date night here with my wife.
The starters were good, wine selection was great, but then disaster with the mains.
The Pork chop was simply undercooked. There were bits of white flour and near the bone it is plainly raw. I don't know what happened. Then the duck came, and that was undercooked. I like eating my red meat medium rare or medium, so I know my sears and my preferences - this duck was not just rare, it centre was still pink and raw, you simply can't serve it like this especially that the duck was cut up into very pretty cubes on the plate.
We talked to the waitress and the chef came out half-apolagetically and offered to recook but the damage was done and my appetite was gone.
At this point in any 5 star resort in any signature restaurant, managers would rush in to comp and shut you up. Probably not just comp the rest of the meal, probably more. But they didn't offer, and didn't even offer to send some other food to our room.
We offered to finished paying for the Entrees and wine and left, shocked at our experience. I am glad other diners had better experiences, I really dislike leaving bad reviews...

Outstanding Experience at Madame So – A Big Thanks to Sela and Team!
Dining at Madame So was an absolute delight, and much of the credit goes to the exceptional service provided by Sela and her amazing team. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and an atmosphere that felt both welcoming and refined.
Sela and staff displayed a level of professionalism and attention to detail that elevated our entire experience. They were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring every aspect of our meal was flawless. Their recommendations were spot-on, showcasing not only their knowledge of the menu but their genuine passion for delivering an unforgettable dining experience.
The food itself was extraordinary – beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, and clearly crafted with care. Paired with the impeccable service, it’s clear that Madame So isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a destination.
Thank you, Sela and team, for going above and beyond to make our visit so special. We’ll be raving about our experience for a long time and can’t wait to return! Highly recommend!

We stayed in the resort and went to this restaurant twice. We are from Melbourne and we have quality Asian food, but this place was exceeding.
Service was great with very attentive staff. As every Fijian, they were super good and awesome with kids.
There is standard food for kids, so that can easy eat anything.
We ordered an entre and two mains plus kids food. Our food was exquisite, with an awesome combination of tastes and colours.
We were lucky enough to meet the chef who was very humble to receive our compliments.
We had 2 kids meals plus 2 drinks, entre, and two mains and two glasses of wine and we paid around 216 FJD.
Definitely worth a visit.

Dinner at Madame So was fantastic!
The food was so flavourful!!
Our group of 3 ordered a variety of meals and each was spectacular!!
I would very highly recommend the Lobster Meat Salad entree, the duck Breast Main Meal and a Coconut Jelly dish for dessert.
We did have to wait much longer than we expected, but the chef and our amazing server Kulaia definitely made up for it. 🤗

Our experience from when we first walked into the restaurant, through to the conclusion of our dinner was incredible! Sweyta and Tomasi were our waiters who were incredibly friendly and attentive. We ordered the pork charsui and prawn royal fried rice and the berf pho, and were also treated to a complimentary wonton. The chef came out to speak to us after and we mentioned that we have not had such a fantastic pho before in Australia where we are from. Would highly recommend to anyone, especially those on the fence due to the higher price point. It was a cullinaru experience we will not forget. Thanks for a fantastic meal team.

My family and I visited Madam So for dinner and enjoyed the experience. As someone with a seafood allergy (excluding fish), I reached out to the staff and chef to ensure I could enjoy my meal safely. They went above and beyond, crafting a dish that was both delicious and entirely allergy-friendly. Every bite was thoroughly enjoyable, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with the care they took. Asesela served our table, and he was incredibly attentive and kind, making sure my family and I were well treated throughout the evening. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff really made us feel at home. I wholeheartedly recommend Madam So to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

We were warmly met by the beautiful female Maître’d (Li?) and she arranged a lovely table for us. Our waiter Tomasi gave us wonderful suggestions for dinner and we received friendly and attentive service from both of the male waiters - Tomasi and Seseta. We particularly enjoyed the sugarcane prawns, sea bass and bug lobsters.
Thank you for a delicious meal and delightful night.

We came here on our last night of our 5 night stay at the Sofitel and can I just say that I wish we had of visited sooner. We had the grilled shrimp on sugarcane entree (shared btwn us), beef pho, pork and prawn fried rice and a side of bok choy. The flavours are incredible! The condiments supplied help you push the heat up easily if you prefer also. A+++ would trade again.
We had the amazing Sela serving us tonight and he is so attentive, professional and caring. If you luck out and get him when you visit, you'll be in great hands ❤️

This is a great spot for a bit more of a sophisticated menu. Authentic Vietnamese and absolutely delicious. The service is the standout with our waitress Koulaia looking after us all the way. Our beef pho was light and the broth was super smooth with the beef just melting in your mouth. That lobster salad is a great entree choice, light, fresh, lots of seafood additions such as scallop and squid🦑

Great selection of meals that are perfect for sharing, wide range of options especially for those with dietary requirements. The ambience is nice and on theme - gorgeous Vietnamese decorations. The restaurant is indoor and air conditioned so perfect for both hot and humid evenings. The severs are respectful and bother to learn your name. If you’re worried about the food taking awhile don’t fret, the food also arrives quickly and many extras such as some complimentary tea are provided. Overall a great experience, would go there again.
