Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had two delicious meals here. Service is friendly, restaurant is clean and cool, and food was good. Also appreciate that they have gluten free buns (highly recommend the breakfast sandwich with GF buns for those who are gluten intolerant).

Absolutely delicious. The ambiance is definitely inspired by Chip and Joanna Gaines. If you can’t get to Waco, come to Medora! The cafe opened at 7 and we arrived at 7:15 and already there was a wait. This is a small cafe with maybe 10 tables. Thankfully, our wait was brief (about 5min) and the hostess was quite friendly while we waited. Our server, Chris, was friendly as well and efficient. Everything we ate was delicious and clearly made with quality ingredients. I had the breakfast sandwich and my husband had the steak and eggs breakfast with a pancake. The special chocolate syrup is amazing and the hash browns weren’t greasy at all. The coffee was rather dark, which isn’t my husband’s preference but he said it was still good. Everything was reasonably priced, especially for a tourist town. Arrive early, expect to wait, but enjoy the food!

We ate three meals here: one breakfast, one lunch, and one dinner. The food was good each time, but the service for lunch and dinner was not as impressive. Our order was wrong both times, and at least one of the servers during that time was pretty rude. At one point, she tossed the bill on our table and walked away without a word. It was weird. We also never got to get our water glasses refilled for any of the three of our meals, even though we had been sitting there each time with empty glasses for quite awhile. Our breakfast was DELICIOUS, though, and Chris was our server then and did a great job taking care of us in a nice and efficient manner. I am glad we did go back for breakfast even though we didn't have the best experience with the other meals. If you go during lunch or dinner, try the Indian Taco, which was really good!

Good for donuts So I went in after back country camping, wanted to get a breakfast option with eggs but all their breakfasts include pork bacon, sausage or ham, and I do not eat pork. So I opted for a maple donut and black coffee, my GOD! What amazing donut, I would say the best maple donut I ever had. As if somehow they found a way to solidify and fry maple syrup and somehow once it reaches your mouth it’s crispy and melts into syrup.

Cute little Cafe, friendly, smiling servers! Our family loved everything we ordered- pulled pork sandwich, BBQ cheeseburger, southwest chicken salad with perfectly cooked chicken. The kids loved their cheeseburgers. We will definitely be back next trip.

Would give this ten stars 🌟 if I could! Convenient location, smallish inside but super cute!!! Very nicely decorated. And our (adorable!!) waitress was 10 years old!!!!! She was very competent and I’m sure her mama (one of the cafe owners - it’s a family business) is VERY proud! My avocado 🥑 toast was truly the best I’ve ever had - I chose the wild rice cranberry bread and asked for an add on of chopped red onion. My hubby had the Denver omelet which he said was very good. This was both a delicious and delightful experience! Be sure to eat at the FARMHOUSE CAFE!

Wonderful lunch at Farmhouse Cafe (farm to table concept still alive in COVID era where only fast food, takeout places generally thrive). Chef gives tributes to American tradition of diner food like breakfast food, eggs, fried chicken steak but local favorite in ND German food fleischkuechle is the best here. It is still moist inside the puff and well marinated with pepper etc. They also sell Indian taco (with fry-bread, ground meat and beans, typical Native Indian’s meal). Do not forget to try their maple infused donut. Staff are friendly and fairly priced too.

After hearing good reviews about the Farmhouse Cafe, we decided to have our last breakfast in Medora here. It was Father’s Day but I was surprised they weren’t crowded and we were seated right away. My sister and I shared a three cheese omelette that came with hash browns and toast. We also had coffee. It was plenty for the two of us and was very good. Even though it was a holiday, we were never rushed to leave. Everyone here was very nice. I wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again if I was ever back in Medora.

We stopped for breakfast before entering Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The eggs, toast, and ham were good, but my hash browns were inedible. They were chewy, not crispy. And whatever they fry them in tasted old and possibly spoiled. Perhaps they had been sitting for a long time. I would expect more from a place that seems to feature their hash browns. Our server seemed more interested in cleaning the restaurant than serving us. By the time he came back to our table we had eaten everything else, and he never asked how our food was, only if we wanted more coffee. Then he went back to cleaning while we waited for our bill. I would not recommend this restaurant!

There are not many places in Medora, ND to have a sit down lunch, so the choices are limited. This is a very busy restaurant with uncomfortable seating, somewhat limited menu and average food, pricey with so-so portions. The service is great and the people are exceptionally nice. I had the cobb salad and my wife had the Indian Taco. Neither was exceptional. They were adequate. My chair was a metal farm chair (?) and quite uncomfortable. I had to use another chair to put over the top of the floor air conditioning vent. The people make the difference!

We stopped here for breakfast before hitting the road again. We arrived right at opening and were the only ones there. Our server was super friendly. She asked where we were traveling and then suggested several things to see along the way. Wife had croissant french toast with chocolate syrup, made in house. She says it tasted as good as it looked, and it looked great. I had chicken fried steak which was very good as well. Wish we lived closer so we could eat there again.

I felt like my husband and I received a pretty good meal here for the money while staying a few days in Medora. Our waitress was friendly, and the place wasn't so large and packed that you couldn't hear yourself think. It was pleasant - glad they were open!

We went here for breakfast - cute clean cafe and the staff was friendly and efficient. I was happy to have a break from the usual greasy breakfast fare we have when traveling and have a delicious avocado toast and some good coffee. Highly recommend!

Our server was attentive. The breakfast was served quickly. My crew ordered the farmhouse breakfasts and gave it a 7 and 8 out of 10. Large portions. I had the avocado toast. It had more pepper than I am accustomed. I recommend picking the cranberry wild rice bread versus the sour dough, as the sweet of the cranberry offset the bite of the pepper. Portion size was modest.

We both had salads. Did not care for the dressing, avocado ranch. Expected hot blackened chicken on the salad but the chicken was fresh tasting but not hot nor blackened, just had spice sprinkled on it after it was cooked. Service not great. Based on reviews we expected better. It was OK, no better, no worse,
