Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A simple and comfortable establishment located in Garapan Village next the Hut. Totally a Marine theme. Food is great with reasonable prices. Japanese fusion restaurant. Ordered the Tuna Poke and the Chinese Crispy Fried Noodles.

It was my first time to dine here with my husband. It has a nice, simple ambiance. We ordered an appetizer (avocado poki) and a steak as our main entree. Everything was delicious and customer service was great! We plan on coming back again.

With Saipan recovering from typhoon Souledor, not many restaurants are open and those that are, operate at below optimum level (limited food items, no aircond etc). Even with this, the food here served was at good standards. Recommend the Beef Kelaguen and deep fried spicy chicken. Food prices are very reasonable.

One of our favorite spots for casual dining in Saipan! My husband and I love all their dishes. Must order Tofu, the kangkung, fried okra poppers, steak, and my fave the mentaiko spaghetti. We love the chef there...really cool guy! It can get a little warm but they do have extra fans blowing.

We stopped here for dinner and were pleased. The menu defies definition...sort of a Mexican,/Japanese/Italian fusion with garlic overtones. The portions are large and the eclectic selections really worked for us.

My husband and I were looking for a new place to add to our list where we could dine on Saipan. I tried the garlic steak. It was tough, overpriced and lacked seasoning. My husband ordered something but I cant remember what he ordered...... it was that average. We won't be back, but it is good we know. The search is still on for a regular place with amazing food.

I really like the ribeye with fried garlic and butter. My husband likes the pizza deal that comes with beer. I have not experienced problems with the service. I think they could use a kid's menu--like a lot of places on the island.

I have eaten here several times and each time was with a group of 6 or more. The service was good and the food was excellent. I had the Mexican plate (and although there was some Spanish rice, it was really just barbecue) and it was delicious and the portions were huge.

While I love the food at this restaurant, the service makes me swear I will never go back again. Their food is truly amazing, but if they are busy, or the waitress doesn't particularly like you, you may never get all your food, although you may still get charged for it all. I waited for over an hour and a half for my Garlic Thai Fried Rice, as I watched them deliver the very same dish to at least 3 other tables who came in after me. Finally after an hour and a half, I told them to cancel the dish, that was ridiculous. Someone else paid the bill and didn't check before, and we were still charged for the dish we never got and cancelled. No food is worth that kind of service sadly! I give it 2 stars just because of the food, but I warn you, the service is some of the worst you will find.

This is the spot for all things garlic. It is a small busy restaurant and we were turned away the first time we tried to eat there. Like many things in Saipan, it may be helpful to speak Japanese. The food was internationally great, with reasonably priced items especially in the appetizer menu. We ordered multiple appetizers and shared them dim-sum style, which worked out well. The fried garlic was especially wonderful. Many vegetarian choices available.

I really like this restaurant. They have some simple yet delicious pasta dishes that are a sort of Japanese/Italian fusion (think olive oil and soy sauce) and their beef oyster sauce is quite tasty. But the best thing about Nin-Nikuya aka 2298 Garlic Grotto Restaurant (the restaurant has 4 names, if you understand Japanese you'll know why) is their TUNA CARPACCIO appetizer and the FRIED GARLIC appetizer. Wow - order these for sure! The tuna carpaccio is pieces of tuna sashimi with thinly sliced avocado slathered in olive oil and covered with a sprinkling of finely chopped onion & carrot. It's a thing of beauty, though handling avocado slices with chopsticks is quite a challenge even for the most proficient users! The fried garlic is made up of individual garlic cloves that are deep fried in olive oil until the shell is crispy and golden brown. You eat it by popping the garlic out of the clove, wrapping it in a sesame leaf, and dipping it in coarse sea salt. You don't taste the garlic because the frying has mellowed it out and the fresh sesame leaf gives it a tang and the sea salt enhances the whole experience. If nothing else come in and eat these two items!
