Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Miyako is a great place for Japanese food on the island. The price is reminiscent of a nice Sunday brunch but is definitely worth it. It's all you can eat off of a set menu which changes regularly. If you love Japanese food and have a good appetite, you really can't go wrong with this place.

Miyako has resurrected itself. Over the last year or so, there has been a change of service staff and kitchen staff. Now the service and quality of food is where it was 2+ years ago. We often attend the lunch buffet which continues to improve. Note to make reservations and this is a very, very popular destination in Saipan. The buffet is approaching some of the better buffets one finds in Japan.

It's a nice cozy ambiance with good, quality food selection from the salad, sushi, sashimi and the array on the buffet line. I believe buffet is only served during lunch and on selected evenings of the week. Reservations highly recommended.

My Sweetie wanted sushi, He called to make a reservation since it was in the Hyatt. When we arrived we found a buffet of seafood and Sushi as well as fruit and cake. The food was Ok, but not great. The service was outstanding. The price was shocking..75.00 EACH. Sadly not worth the money.

Fresh salads, fish, and tasty sushi. Call in advance to secure a seat because this place is always packed. The service is great and miyako now offers more healthy choices.

Good selection of traditional Japanese foods including sushi, tempura, soups, noodles, and grilled selections, plus a salad bar and western desserts. Consistent and popular with locals and tourists alike.

As always a great place to visit. Full Buffets are during lunch time. However on Saturdays evenings buffet is offered. Staff are polite and friendly. Miyako is inside the Saipan Hyatt Regency located in Garapan next to the American Memorial Park. $42.00 per person but with the quality of food to include fresh tuna sashimi and a wide variety of Japanese dishes. It's worth the money. Try it. FYI staff are quick to take your finished plates so make sure your food does not run away...lol

Came in for the lunch buffet and the food was great as usual. Service is always good although today, was a bit slow. I always liked that the quality of the food especially the sushi is top notch compared to other hotel restaurants on the island. Will definitely come back!

We are long time customers of the Miyako and have seen its ups and downs. Recently, it has been in a tale spin. Today we went to the buffet at noon, which we often have gone to. The food was not up to its former standards. The tuna was freshly thawed and had too much water in it and it was mushy. The rice on the sashimi kept falling apart. The variety of side dishes was lacking and the space was filled with more salads. The tempura shrimp was just thrown into the batter. I.e. Not held by the tail. The chicken wings were raw at the centre. The egg custard ran out five minutes into our stay and forty five minutes later were not replaced. Plates at the dessert table ran out and it took ten minutes to replace them. The waitstaff are new and need more supervision. We had a half a dozen empty plates on our table before it was cleared and we had to ask for refills of tea. Disappointed.

Came here last night and the food was good, can't compare to Tokyo but not bad. Good service although our food took longer than usual to come out. Inside Hyatt Regency Saipan

We are regular customers to the Miyako, but have not been since January. This was a Tokyo restaurant in Saipan. However, something has happened. The food is still great, but the level of service has taken a nose dive (the food keeps the restaurant at 3 stars). Pleasant enough, but without any clue of service. Serve from the left, take from the right is unknown, the girl we had actually leaned across us. Problems with clearing the table continued. Lack of cutlery existed. The list could go on. And why, oh why was the background music like a bad AM station?

We visit the Miyako whenever we can. This is Japanese restaurant that out shines others in Saipan. The noon buffet and especially the Saturday night buffet cannot be beat. I shudder to think what the same meal would cost me in Tokyo. Even with a change in staff (they are still in training) the service is very good. P.S. If you a regular to Saipan, consider purchasing a "Club at the Hyatt" card!

This is undoubtedly the premier Japanese restaurant on Saipan, but get ready to pay for it, it isn't cheap. If you want a 5 star Japanese meal on Saipan, this is definitely the place.

I took my husband out last night for his 40th Birthday dinner. I wanted a relaxing tasty dinner, but mostly what we got was overly sweet food, fish that was lukewarm at best and THE FAMILY that somehow seems to appear every time we are trying to have a relaxing time at the Hyatt. The children in this family are notoriously bad (yelling, stomping feet, running around), and the parents need to rent a house so their kids can be bad in their own home, and not use Hyatt dining as their personal living room. We have been annoyed by them so many times! The waitress could see my distress and others in the dining room were looking over in disapproval, but these parents are oblivious to their annoyance and Hyatt has somehow made a deal where they can eat ALL the time in all the restaurants. Hyatt needs to be aware that the people that pay lots of money to eat at your establishments want a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Hopefully this review stands up for all the people in the present, past and future and Hyatt will make the change. Hyatt, Get these people a house!
