Good selection of food at a good price and lots of vegies on most of the meals. Friendly and talkative employees. We had a lovely time.

We were staying next to Alice May, so nice and handy. We were there for burger night and the chicken and beef cheek burgers with loads of chips were great. It also came with a complimentary beer/wine. The story behind the restaurant was interesting (if...not a bit tragic) and it was in a wonderful setting. Would go back.More

Nice spot, pretty quiet in level 2. Young waiter was keen but forgot cutlery and took plates away before we were all finished. My fish and chips wasn't great and repeated on me all night. The venison sausage with mash was really good.

Beautiful place to visit. Read the history on this restaurant before I visited and very cool story. Food was amazing and Leslie gave the best service; she was a delight! Must order the seafood chowder, full of flavour and a must try x

Our family of five had a great meal. It's not often that everyone is happy when you count for allergies and fussy kids in our whānau. Alice May's provided great food and a lovely environment.

Very impressed with this small restaurant on the street behind the main road through Franz Josef. Great food, very friendly service, a good range of beers, and a characterful vintage interior. Good kids menu too.

What a fantastic place! The whole experience was so enjoyable. Food was yummy, service was great. We enjoyed Prawn and Chilli pasta and Falafel and Feta salad for dinner plus a decadent chocolate fudge cake to share for dessert. Housed in a charming cottage Alice...May's is steeped in the history of it's namesake, Alice May. Well worth a visit to learn of the story and experience the era the story was set in. Even the china holds its own reminiscence! Very, very well done!More
