We were touring the town of Ninety Six and decided on Mexican Food for lunch. We saw Las Cascadas and decided to check it out. We were not disappointed. We were seated promptly. The menu offered many options at great prices. While we were reviewing the menu, fresh tortilla chips and 2 types of salsa was served. Delicious!
I opted for the Enchiladas Super Rancheras and my husband had the Fried Beef Burrito. The food arrived quickly and hot. Both of us enjoyed our food very much. We had so much food, that we had to ask for "take away" boxes. We had enough for dinner the next night. For the quality and quantity of food that we had, the prices are very reasonable.
Las Cascados was a real find. I recommend this restaurant to anyone living or visiting Ninety Six.

Had lunch here after exploring Lake Greenwood SP. It was a Sunday afternoon and was busy with the after church crowd. Quickly seated and service was good. Food was good and we would return. Interestly they had a special of 1 meat and 3 vegetables which seemed popular with the chruch crowd. Don't know if this was a daily thing of specific for a Sunday. We stuck with Mexican.

The food is good and very reasonably priced. I frequent this place at least once a week or every other because I work nearby. I find the service lacking some days. For example, today during my lunch there, I got up to use the bathroom about mid-way through the meal. I left my hand sanitizer on the table so staff would know I hadn't left without paying. When I returned to the table, the table was being cleared and my food had been trashed. The staff continued to clear the table and actually laughed that I was still there. I went to the checkout and was asked how my meal was. I said, "okay, until it was taken away". The cashier had witnessed what happened and said, "well, did you not tell anyone around that you were going to the bathroom??" I informed her there was nobody around. Guess next time I'll announce to the restaurant that I have to go to the restroom. I questioned why me not paying and also leaving something at the table was not enough of a hint that I was still there. I told her I would take it to the Manager's attention that there was no accountability, no apology and everyone there thought it was funny. She quickly informed me she was the owner's daughter to which I replied I would still take it up with THE owner. Sorry to say this will be my last visit there as I was still charged full price for not even half the meal eaten and lack of concern, but rather appeared as a joke to the staff. I am nobody's joke and can spend my money at better establishments.

The food was good and service was decent. My one complaint is that we had to ask three times before being brought extra napkins. Other than that everything was fine and the food came out quickly.

we went here while at Lake Greenwood for dinner. It was a very good choice. I am wary about some Mexican restaurants but this was a good find. It was very clean and the food was very good. We had a variety of food and even a steak. Everyone enjoyed their meal very much. We even had a birthday surprise for the 14 year old. Overall good service as well. Would definitely go back if in area.

This was the only restaurant we could find in the area that was open on Sundays! It was packed but comfortable so apparently the locals visit here on Sundays as well! The Mexican food was decent for central South Carolina and the service was great.

I have driven past this restaurant many times and decided that since it had survived so many years in a small town that it deserved a shot. I was mistaken. It was brightly lit, was more than adequate staff, and the bathroom was very clean. Those are the reasons it gets any stars at all. I should have known when I was handed the menu along with a printed sheet listing basic American food. I ordered taquitos, which are very hard to mess up as they are basically meat rolled up in a tortilla and fried. It was about half meat, with the rest being overcooked onions with some odd, not-Mexican, tasting red sauce. I ate one of the four on my plate, and when the waiter asked if I wanted a to-go box, I declined. The rice with my husband's meal was flavorless, as was the rest of his meal. We decided that once was enough for this lifetime.

We loved this place! Menu is hugh with a great selection and at great prices! Margaritas available in 3 BIG sizes and Mex beer was terrific. Service was quick and our waiter was the best. Highly recommend as Best Mexican in Greenwood area.

What were we thinking when we pulled into the parking lot of Las Cascadas? I've had enough experience with what passes as "Mexican" (or "Tex-Mex") food in the Carolinas to have had an inkling of what we were in for when we walked through the doors. Even so, the food we encountered when our plates were served was a new . . . experience . . . for all of us, a new experience in just how bizarrely different from the real thing "Mexican" food can become in its Deep South iterations far from the Mexican border and the states of the Southwest.
What we were thinking was this: we had just arrived in the small off-the-beaten-path community of Ninety-Six. It was lunchtime. We were ravenous. We'd driven several hours fraught with anxiety from Charlotte to Ninety-Six via backroads that turned out to be back, back, back backroads, never certain that Google was directing us correctly.
We had seen nary place to eat — not of any kind — for miles and miles as we made our way past the houses with big Confederate flags displayed on their front porches beside American ones, through the deeply depressed mill towns where no mill work remains for anyone.
Given all of this, Las Cascadas looked like an oasis in a desert, and we opted for it as the only thing in sight. And we got what we opted for.
As a general rule of thumb, any "Mexican" or "Tex-Mex" restaurant that equates Mexican "seasoning" with melted processed cheese to which ground celery seed has been added is best avoided, except as a kind of pedagogical experience in what strange things can happen to any cuisine when it's adapted unintelligently by people from another cultural background. My tostada came swimming in this inedible glop, and was anything but tostada, since the melted cheese sauce had totally swamped the tostada shell beneath the chicken, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream.
And then there was the strange comedy (not the ha-ha kind) that ensued when we asked for glasses for our bottles of beer. We went through three different wait-staff persons until someone found the ability, mysteriously and as our meal was about ended, to discover and bring frosted mugs to us, into which we might pour what was left of our beer.
This was a very strange dining experience. If that's what you're in the market for, you might consider Las Cascadas. If not, you may want to look for other options in this part of South Carolina, or pack a nice picnic lunch when you go to visit the national park at Ninety-Six.
