The best lamb sandwich EVER! Could not believe how good it was, the chimichurri was fantastic. Coffee was great plus the nut based sweets were yum! Couldn't fault the place in any way from food and drinks to service! Only negative is they are not open for dinner

Beautiful and incredibly convenient location. We stopped for breakfast after hiking around the lake. The coffee was great, and the food was just fine - nothing special. The smoked salmon benedict honestly just had too much salmon, and it over-powered the rest of the dish. Overall, a good spot for a great view, good coffee, and a meal.

We stopped in here for lunch while on a trip to Lake Matheson, and the Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers. Beautiful location with an amazing view. There were only a few other people there when we went (possibly because it was winter and not that warm) which was great for us as we were able to sit and enjoy the... More

Stopped for a short coffee break at Mathewson Cafe. Great spot for a break, didn't get to do the hikes as we were short on time but the coffee and carrot cake is highly recommended. Great service and love love love the spectacular views.

We visited for a cup of coffee and chai latte after walking around the Lake. Very friendly staff. Lovely facility with plenty of seating. I personally didn't enjoy my chai latte. Far too much cardamon and cinnamon or something. Other than that it was a lovely place to sit and enjoy a hot drink. On a sunny day the view... More

It was a After-lake breakfast. Had a first try on Salmon risotto. The risotto, which is a northern Italian rice, quite new to me and I couldn't resist the good of its soft texture. Very delicious! Highly recommended!

This was recommended by our motel. It was an real pleasure to eat here after an early morning trek in to photograph the lake. Really busy so I wasnt expecting anything great. The queue was 10 deep and took no time to be served. We sat down and within minutes our meals and coffees were served.

Several friends said this is the best restaurant in Fox Glacier. It's about a mile out the side road from town. It's located in a beautiful area with a nice view of the valley. They have plenty of seating. I decided on the salmon fillet. It was great. Service was ok and the view from our table was great

We were recommended by our Hotel and did not expect a cafe outside of the small town tonhave such lovely food and views. We had the local lamb it was delicious, the clouds lifted and we saw Mount Tamsin and Mount Cook, all with a glass of wine, what's not to like!
