Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Rudest place I have ever set foot in. Rude staff. Rude patrons. Just this year, I have drunk in hotels in Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium, England, France, Portugal, Australia, Andorra, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. This was the worst experience.

Our Family were staying at the Mokihinui domain camp and found out after having a sit down fish and chip meal that we could have ordered it as a takeaway and saved, was just average- fish and chips and a premade salad. The Meals were...advertised but you had to know to ask for a takeaway menu.More

What a highly unpleasant experience was had here! The unfortunate and apparently humourless new Landlady, reacted very badly to some harmless banter with other customers (and her - we thought!) and became so openly antagonistic that my friend and I were invited to leave the...premises before our food was even served - but after half of it was paid for.... Such a very different experience compared to all our other interactions with warm, friendly ‘Coasters.😟 Probably not the best experience that the gorgeous West Coast gave us on our holiday!More

Every time we come to Westport we always come up to Mokihinui. We have been here 3 times now and it’s never disappointed. This is a great country pub with great food and friendly staff with a nice relaxed atmosphere. A free pool table is...always a lot of fun too.More

Well priced beer in a cozy bar with a wood burner. Everyone friendly and welcoming. Just what we needed on a wet, windy night!

Great place to head after finishing the Old Ghost Rd. Really accommodating, great pub meals, and cheap beer, both local craft beer and standard stuff. They'll make you feel welcome!

We went to this little place for lunch after finishing The Old Ghost Trail mountain bike route. The service was fantastic and the coffee was excellent. They even served C4 coffee. All of us ordered fish and chips which tasted great. Just had to write...a review because we enjoyed it so much and would definitely recommend it.More

What a find when staying locally. Went there for dinner and although your not seated in restaurant type settings you seem to fit in when you haul a stool up to the bar. Food was great and was recommended from some locals I knew, we...were not disappointed. The steak was just full of flavour but just a little too rare for my type of rare. Not much on the wine list but great service from the owners. Secret though, try the iced coffee for something before lunch.More

We were a group of three and we stopped for a late lunch. The cheese toasties were great and the coffee was really good. A nice touch was the small Christmas biscuit with the coffee. The staff were all lovely and very friendly. This place...has a relaxed and welcoming vibe - highly recommended!More
