On the recommendation of friends in Wanaka we did a day trip to Clyde and parked right in front of this gem. I had the most delicious seafood chowder that I have experienced so far in New Zealand which was rich and loaded with green lip mussels while my partner enjoyed the very rich in flavour Nacho’s. In their counter inside the restaurant was a very sinful delicious fruit cake which was finished with one of their rich lattes. Service was prompt and very friendly.

Labour weekend so a very busy time in Clyde.
We were able to take a seat outside. We ordered 2 lunch meals and coffees. A vegetarian pasta which was just delicious and just the right amount considering it was only lunchtime and the 2nd meal was a something meaty in a black bun - which apprenently was simply gorgeous (and he admits that he has a little labrador in him ie. loves his food!!!)
We enjoyed our lunch and would definitely recommend AND return :-)

We dined here for dinner and wow. We chose Tuna Ceviche to start and so tender and flavourful.
Mains we had we Duck and Fish of the day being Swordfish. The Duck was with a raspberry cassia sauce and the fish was with asparagus, broccolini and grilled just stunning.
Desserts a Valrhona Chocolate Torte and a Passion fruit & Lemon Pot. Woooo so so good.
Very friendly owner operated restaurant.
Having eaten at the other options in Clyde this leaves them for dead

Superb food, great surroundings. Starter of snapper with a chilli topping which was mouth-watering and then duck which was simply the best duck this side of the black stump. Plus a scrummy dessert! The choices all look very inviting. The combination of Wendy in front of house and Werner doing his magic in the kitchen makes a night out at the Old Clyde Bank a memorable experience. Great to get a little taste of the wine before ordering and must say that the Dicey range of Central Otago wines are well worth trying.

Wow what a find, this was such a great dinner. The food was great local unpretentious produce, cooked to perfection, coupled with Wendy the FoH co-owner who made us feel so at home in a beautiful historic location. And so reasonably priced! We'd love to come back one day. If we could give it 10 stars, we would.

We were staying in Alexandra in South Island chasing magnificent wine and asked our hosts about local places for dinner. The Old Clyde Bank is in a gorgeous little heritage town (where they shoot movies) and had the best range of local produce for fine dining. Venison, duck, and lamb were all delectable. It's located near Sam Neill's winery so of course we tried the Two Paddocks Pinot Noir Rose...yummmm! It was so cosy and the service was terrific - we would go back in a heartbeat!

Our second time here and it reconfirms what we thought the first time. Exceptional quality, thoughtful dishes and really passionate people working their butts off to provide a small but perfectly formed menu. We had the risotto (wild mushroom, slow roasted fennel, sun-dried tomato, and aged pecorino) and linguine (lemon, crème fraiche , mussels, shrimp, squid). Few glasses of wine in the sun, got a peek at the evening menu (local wild foods like venison, mushroom, fish) - now open Friday and Saturday nights. The chef was apparently last at Mt Difficulty for a long time- now in full control of his small kitchen he is making some really memorable dishes. Outstanding friendly service helps make this our new Clyde favourite.

We had a delightful dinner at The Old Clyde Bank. Thanks for making such delicious duck Werner...it's my absolute favourite dish on the menu! We also enjoyed a superb ceviche (with a twist) for appetiser and my husband had a gingerbread dessert that he absolutely loved - it was so indulgent! The food and presentation is top class with a carefully selected wine list. And we had such awesome service from Wendy.
You guys are a fabulous team and really care about your guests! 😊

Absolutely lovely yet again. If you are looking for a lunch spot (we’ve never been for dinner so can’t speak to that) then this small place in the main street (indoor and outdoor seating) is in our opinion the best in Clyde. Small menu, expertly done, charming service, incredible value.

Over the week we visited a number of Clyde’s restaurants (including the top rated) but this place was the best.
The email communication making a booking on the day was friendly and accommodating. The experience continued that way. A small and friendly place, the service was great and the food fabulous. Not a flaw anywhere.

Menu has something for everyone. We had the seafood linguine and the seared tuna which were both absolutely delicious!
Service is wonderful (thank you Wendy) and my coffee was lovely (kudos to Gary).
Definitely recommended as 'The place to eat' in Clyde!

Everything about The Bank is incredible, this husband-and-wife team know how to perfect. The ambience is faultless, it has such a great feel. The service is six star, Wendy who is front of house goes above and beyond, and she is so genuine. The food is exceptional, Werner equals any top restaurant throughout the world. The Old Bank is definitely a place you want to go to, you will not be disappointed.

Popped in for a quick coffee before hitting the cycle trails. Greeted by the friendliest owner and Barista.
Coffee absolutely exceptional and I'm a sucker for cheese scones and these certainly didn't disappoint. They were a 10/10!
We will definitely be back next time we are in Clyde. Be sure to visit you won't be disappointed.

Great food and friendly service .
Whilst the decor and ambiance are not to the same standards as Oliver’s the quality and the quantity of the food is very comparable. We were all very impressed with the food and the service was welcoming, friendly and genuine.
Will definitely be going back to dine and recommend others do the same.

We decided to head here for dinner based on a recommendation. We were not disappointed. The service was excellent, we felt very welcome. The food was terrific, small menu but done really well. It was clear that there were lots of locals which is always a good sign.
