Dining at The Lone Star in Wiri was an excellent choice. It was a real meal, by quantity as well as quality. They could employ an extra waiter/waitress as they were very busy...but that also shows it is a popular restaurant. The staff remained very cheerful even when stretched.

The service was good and the meal was absolutely how i like it cook.

Our daughter gave my husband and i a $100.00 gift card for a meal at lone star Manukau. The service was great, i ordered a shandy only to be served a glass of lemon aide and a glass of beer (how does that happen?) I laughed it of and asked for an empty glass to pour my own shandy. Menu. My husband ordered 9 red ribs and i ordered 14 prawns with rice and side salad. The highlight of the night was definitely the menu, Cheers to the chef he cooked our meals exactly how we like them cooked. Thankful i will definitely come back again.

My wife and I went out for dinner with a couple of friends before going to a comedy show. We all had a great experience at this establishment. The restaurant was close to full occupancy and a great vibe. We were welcome and shown to our table. The menu suggested us to join their loyalty club for receiving rewards, which is a fantastic idea. I ordered the tequila and lime scallops as an entreé and the rib eye rested on a baked potato cake with spinach and mushroom sauce. The scallops had this delicious zangy and mildly spiced sauce. The beef was cooked perfectly to my request (medium rarel as a dessert I chose the affogato. The wine list was a little restricted as far as selection goes, but I liked the ones I tried. Everyone else in my party really enjoyed their meals which include the lamb racks, sirloin steak, chicken nibbles, creme brulee... The service was very swift, friendly and professional. When we got the bill I made the most of the offer for being a new club member and redeemed my free dessert. Steve and his team are running a very good restaurant at Lone Star Manukau. We'll definitely be back again. Cheers.

Disappointing

We have dined here on multiple occasions, sadly the 07 March was a huge disappointment. Our table 7 adults, 1 child were seated quickly, however our 2 of our orders were wrong, we waited at least 15mins to order drinks, we had to clear our table ourselves, our dessert order took 50mins! The restaurant was approx half full! The duty manager refused to acknowledge the birthday voucher for 1 adult at our table as we did not let them know before we ordered. That condition was not on the email that was sent from Lonestar. Normally have had great service at Manukau Lonestar, just not that night :(

7 of us arrived without a booking and it was no issue to fit us in. Dinner was delicious, big meals and quick service even though it was busy. Kids loved the choices on the children's menu (which is great value)

NOT GOOD AT ALL

We entered into your restaurant at 6.35pm and was seat after 2mins. The atmosphere at the time it was quite and we were the second or 3 third lot of customers in the restaurant side. After about 8mins we were asked to see if we wanted to order. I stated asked the lady to come back we had not had enough time. Then we asked if we could order drinks? Which wasn't asked at all. After we got our first lot of drinks, we then proceeded to order. Waiting about 20mins we got asked if we wanted the kid's meals with starter or mains. We said starters. My daughter got her fish and chips kids meal, the fish was over cooked, the batter was dark. Waited for the rest of our order and my second oldest daughter's meal was last one and took a while to come out which I thought was not fair, being a child. We never received any small plates nor finger washing bowl for the chicken nibbles or the mussels, so we used the napkins on the table for a plate then after pretty much finishing the starters the waitress then brought over small plates but was far too late, we didn't use them. The mussels still had their beards in them and there was like a handful of raw onions on top of them for some random reason. This was very obvious the mussels were not cleaned properly. Highly disappointed! We waiting another 15-20 mins for out mains. I ordered the Lamb dish and when receiving it, my lamb was way over cooked the outside was burnt and for $39 it was a very small portion amount, there was not much mash potato or vegetables. Our table condiments were not topped up, only 2 forks and lots of knifes, there was 7 of us and since we booked the table 4 days before hand, we would have thought that stuff like this would have been organized. Very poor experience! Especially when we paid top dollar to eat out that's not KFC or Mc Donalds to get great customer service, great hospitality and excellent tasting food especially because we were celebrating my mother in-laws 50th birthday. We were meant to have cake and dessert but never made it to that stage as we just over it. The lack of training from staff, bad experience we got from the food and the Un organization skills the restaurant had was highly disappointing! Emailed the store and never received a response, Not good at all Lone Star! WOULD NO RECOMMEND AT ALL

If only the service was as good as the food

Booked a table for 6 for Mother’s Day dinner. On arrival the staff member pointed in the general direction of our table and said “you’re sitting up there” and didn’t have anyone show us to the table. It then took more than 20 mins before a staff member came and took our order. 30 mins later, the first plate came out, another 5 mins later the second two plates. 10 more minutes, yes another 10, passed and we got the final 3 x dishes. As the group finished eating, including the ones that were 15 mins behind, the same staff member from the door came and told us that we needed to clear our table for another group. We then asked if we were allowed to have desert to which the lady scoffed and walked away. A second staff member came and threw a pile of menus on the table and said here’s desert options, what would you like. In the end we decided against desert given the attitude from the staff. Go to pay the bill and the staff member then makes us feel like we are a pain as we had a birthday voucher as well. All in all the food was great, but their front of house staff need training in how to provide good service when under pressure. We won’t be back we will drive over to Botany as they’ve never let us down.

Very grateful for the waitress

We had dinner for my sisters birthday last night there. And I wanted to express how awesome the waitress was from the time i walked in especially to the South African female medium- tall height waitress I am really real really sorry I didnt get your name . But your service was amazing and to have that smile consistently there even though I know you were so busy was amazing. You made it easy for me and my family dinning in- you were very professional, lovely, friendly and approachable. That is 1000 % excellent customer service you got there girl. Keep it up because its people like you that makes us customers feel warm and welcome when attending public spaces for food. Bless yah girl.

An oldie, but a goody. Back for the first time after change in Alert levels. Family out for birthday celebration. Quick, friendly service and meals arrived in amazingly short time after ordering; piping hot and absolutely delicious. Fantastic all round. Thanks Lone Star.

Birthday dinner with the family

Went to Manukau Lone Star for dinner lastnight (13th Dec). Service was terrible, the staff looked angry, even the guy that was on the front counter looked stressed. Waiter took a while to come take our order. One made it awkward for us, as she brought out the birthday pavlova with no candle, then I had to tell her to get a candle for the birthday people to blow! Then we asked the same waitress for water, and she refilled one cup when there are 8 people on the table. So overall, I would not recommend Lone Star Manukau.

Birthday dinner

I have been here before and the food was amazing and the portions were generous however this time i was highly disappointed i ordered the pork meal and it was dry and the crackle was not that great either. The fries were delicious but only had a few. Coleslaw salad was also delicious. My partner had the ribs and said they were ok.

This was my family and I’s first time dining at LoneStar and we will definitely be back! I have to admit my husband and I were skeptical as we took note that there were only a handful of young girls that seemed to be working but the food and service was awesome. Monique our waitress was great and the young blonde girl managing was absolutely fantastic, seemed very in control and even gave our young boys some free shirts. I had the johnny cash chicken dish and my husband had the lamb. Not one bad thing to say. Great job LoneStar we will be back with the extended family in tow.

Fantastic Food

First dinner after lockdown, we could book on line which was great & hopefully they continue that. It was a slightly different atmosphere & a reduced menu due to COVID, but still a lovely evening out. The food was fabulous, we had the Eye Fillet Steak and the Slow Roasted Lamb which was their special, both 10/10 they were cooked to perfection. Definitely highly recommend our local Lone Star.

Great Meal, Good Atmosphere, Excellent Service

We made a booking at 6pm via the online booking tool on the website. We on time and were seated at a table that catered for 6 adults. The service was great and we were tended to, even when one of our members popped off to the restrooms we ordered for them and the waitress came back to confirm the order when they returned to the table. We ordered garlic loaf for the table and it came out in good timing. The main meals were full of flavour and we were so full we couldn't fit in a dessert, however the menu looked great. I am sure if we had ordered it would have been just as flavoursome as the main meal. Would definitely go back again and recommend arriving early to beat the night rush. One minor note, the music was just a little bit loud to hear others talking across the table. However, this didn't take away from the great experience.

This was a leaving meal as I was returning to the Uk. The service was slow and other people were served before us who came in after. We had to get up to find someone to take our order . My friend asked for a takeaway box and they took her food and gave her an empty box
